Baja 1000 2014: Race Schedule, Live Stream Info and Final Predictions
The 2014 SCORE Baja 1000 is the year's premier showcase for off-road racing, presenting fans with a wide variety of classes and vehicles in exciting and highly grueling events.
The Baja 1000 consists of numerous races over different classes, ranging from the amateur Sportsman designation up to Pro Level 4. Each race starts in Ensenada, a city in Baja California, Mexico and ends at La Paz, the capital city of the Baja California state.
Last year, the motorcycle winner finished in just over 18 hours.
The races also consist of shotgun starts, as one vehicle leaves every 30 seconds, with a five-minute break in between classes.

Trophy Truck Prediction
The event's premier event is the trophy truck race, which features the most competitors and biggest names in the SCORE Points Standings.
The racer to watch is two-time defending champion "Ballistic" B.J. Baldwin, who won last year's race in 18 hours, 36 minutes and 10 seconds. As National Speed Sports News relayed at the time, Baldwin believes he won by defying his nickname and displaying patience and maturity at an extraordinarily treacherous course:
"This race course is tight and technical and not something I’m particularly good at. I’m better at fast roads and backing it into corners between 85 and 110 mph. The tight, technical stuff isn’t nearly as much fun as rotating the truck at very high speed. I just ground it out and I’m surprised that we are here. We had a good day.
"
However, Baldwin will need a strong showing to rise to the top of the points standings once again, as Gus Vildosola Jr. currently leads the Trophy Truck standings, while Baldwin sits in fourth.
Vildosola and Baldwin is the sport's most bitter rivalry, as the former actually finished first in the 2012 rendition of the Baja 1000. However, Baldwin filed a complaint accusing Vildosola of making an illegal pit stop on the highway, an infraction that stripped Vildosola of the victory.
This race is far from a two-man competition, however, as Bryce Menzies will look to get over the hump with a victory. Menzies was leading the points standings at this time last year, but Baldwin's victory stripped him of the SCORE title:
Menzies currently sits in 14th after four races, so he has far more room to make up. However, Menzies appears eager to challenge the sport's leading duo:
Ultimately, however, it is extremely difficult to bet against Baldwin, given the uncharacteristic racing form he demonstrated in winning last year's event. That kind of versatility has kept Baldwin near the top of the points standings year after year, and until another racer dethrones him, expect "Ballistic" to once again reign at the sport's premier race.
