Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported on the unfortunate development as it unfolded at Ford Field:

Albert was later ruled out for the remainder of the game, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald:

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported on the nature of Albert's injury:

After the game, Salguero provided a update on Albert's status for the remainder of the season: "Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert this afternoon told several teammates that he suffered a knee and possibly other injury that will require surgery and put him out the remainder of the season."

Albert has played a key role in the massive improvement of the Dolphins offensive line this season, which helped bolster both the rushing attack and young quarterback Ryan Tannehill's progression.

Losing the Pro Bowler at such a vital position would harm the momentum Miami has generated over the past month of the season. Before losing to Detroit on Sunday, the Dolphins were on a three-game winning streak.

Without Albert, it will be a massive blow to a squad on the outside of the playoff picture in the AFC.
