Swansea vs. Arsenal: Key Takeaways from Arsene Wenger's Pre-Match Presser
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has called on Aaron Ramsey to bury his ego in the future and play for the team after the Welshman was widely criticised as the Gunners lost a 3-0 lead midweek against Anderlecht in the Champions League.
Although the Gunners did take a point against the Belgian side on Tuesday, three conceded second-half goals saw them squander the opportunity to secure qualification for the last 16 with two games to spare in the group stages.

The north London club—and specifically Ramsey—were accused of naively continuing to attack at 3-0 up. Ahead of his side's trip to Swansea on Sunday in the Premier League, Wenger has called on his midfielder to be more selfless in future, via BBC Wales Sport:
"Arsene Wenger on Aaron Ramsey pre Swansea: "He has to keep his priorities right. He needs to help the team. It's not about goalscoring."
— BBC Wales Sport (@BBCWalesSport) November 7, 2014"
Indeed, one of Liverpool's 2005 Champions League winners, Dietmar Hamann, accused Ramsey after the Anderlecht game of being out for himself, per Metro:
"The main culprit was Ramsey. He wanted to get on the scoresheet. He wasn’t interested in the team’s success, whether the team was going to win or not concede and secure the three points.
"
Unsurprisingly, Wenger himself took a great deal of criticism after Tuesday's performance, with former Gunner Paul Merson describing the Frenchman's team as "tactically clueless" on Sky Sports, via Gary Payne in The Guardian.
Bleacher Report UK's Sam Tighe also questioned Arsenal's second-half play:
In response to the media criticism, Wenger showed no animosity in his pre-Swansea press conference on Friday, simply suggesting it was just people doing their jobs, per Arsenal's official Twitter:
He will no doubt be eager for his players to respond on the pitch come Sunday with a victory over sixth-placed Swansea, who claimed a 0-0 draw away to Everton last time out and will be a tough nut to crack.
Wenger also commented on Joel Campbell on Friday, the Costa Rican forward reportedly eager to leave Arsenal after two consecutive matches in which he has not even been in the squad, per ESPN FC.
The 22-year-old had an excellent World Cup in the summer but has been limited to just two substitute appearances in the league this season, and Wenger did little to suggest he may become a bigger part of his plans in the future, per Arsenal's Twitter feed:
The Gunners currently sit fourth in the Premier League having won two on the bounce against Sunderland and Burnley.
Alexis Sanchez's form has been vital for the Gunners this season—he has four in the last two league games and seven in total per WhoScored.com—but Wenger must hope some of his other players step up soon.
In calling out Ramsey, Wenger will likely be looking for a response from the Welshman on Sunday but the whole team need to show a vast improvement from Tuesday's second half if they are to pick up three points at the Liberty Stadium.
