Tom Brady and Julian Edelman Share Broment After Punt Return TD

Dan CarsonNov 5, 2014

Julian Edelman had himself a game Sunday.

The New England Patriots wideout laid waste to the Denver Broncos, notching a receiving score and an 84-yard punt return touchdown, the latter of which ended in a touching Taster’s Choice moment between bros on the sidelines.

Both of Edelman’s scores came in the first half, with the punt return prompting Tom Brady to rush the field.

The Patriots quarterback ran out from the sidelines and congratulated Edelman in the end zone. The excitement eventually died down enough for the wide receiver to realize Brady had no business being on the field after that touchdown.

YouTube user Nick Orlando uploaded a video of the moment. It is priceless.

“Greatest punt returner in NFL history,” Brady said.

“Were you in the end zone on that punt return?” Edelman asked.

“Yeah,” Brady said. “Had to go see my guy.”

Fist bump!

Brady went on to lie to Edelman, saying he sprinted down the sidelines to get to the end zone. I don’t think this is the sideline.

Oh well. Sometimes you’re so pumped to watch your bro score, you don’t realize you just ran 50 yards across the field to give him a helmet bump.

Brady minted another memorable soundbite later in the game after a breathtaking one-handed catch near the goal line by Rob Gronkowski.

The grab left Brady dumbfounded.

“How the f—k did you catch that?” Brady asked.

No one knows, Tom.

In any case, the 7-2 Patriots will ride Brady's emotional broller coaster into the bye week. Their next matchup is away against the Indianapolis Colts, who will have to weather a deluge of fist bumps from a fully rested Brady-Edelman-Gronkowski trio.
