Liverpool Transfer News: Fresh Karim Benzema Setback, Divock Origi Hailed
Karim Benzema's phenomenal form has made the Real Madrid forward nearly untouchable in the transfer market, and Carlo Ancelotti reminded reporters how he feels about the France international after the 1-0 Champions League win over Liverpool.
Via the club's official website, he said: "Benzema is enjoying a good run of form, I don't know if it is the best of his career, but it is his best form since I have been here. I really like how he works for the team; he is a really important player for us."
Benzema has often been called a "system player" for his ability to hold on to the ball and find passing lanes for advancing wingers, servicing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo rather than scoring himself.

His ability to create from the striker position is uncanny according to Squawka, but as shared by Real Madrid Stats, that doesn't mean he can't find the net on his own:
The availability of Radamel Falcao during the summer transfer window had plenty of pundits speculating about his possible move to the Spanish capital and Benzema's future.
Fichajes (h/t Metro) continued to link the 26-year-old with a move to Anfield even after Falcao was loaned to rivals Manchester United, but his fantastic form in 2014-15 makes a transfer virtually impossible.
The Frenchman has been one of the hottest strikers in all of football this season, and combined with the hot start Ronaldo has had to the campaign, Los Blancos have been nearly perfect in the past two months. Not only is there no reason to sell Benzema, but finding an adequate replacement would be very difficult.
While the Reds have the financial means to sign top-class players, someone like Benzema may just be out of the team's reach. With Mario Balotelli arriving during the summer and Daniel Sturridge set to return from injury, there's also no clear need for another ace striker.

One solution could be Divock Origi, who is drawing rave reviews from teammates while on loan at Lille. Simon Kjaer told the Mirror's David Anderson he foresees big things for the Belgium international:
"He has got great potential and could become one of the best players in his position.
Origi is one of the greatest talents I have ever played with in Italy, Germany or France. I have no doubt about his potential.
He's still very young and it was a clever move to let him mature one more season with Lille, but he's got the complete package - physically, technically and great speed.
A special thing about him is that he has no real weak spots, which he needs to work on. Instead he can just work on the things he's already good at. That's a huge advantage.
He's actually pretty versatile. We can use him on both sides and up front as well. Now I have played with Origi for a year and he really seems to have a good mentality. He is a dedicated pro at his young age.
"
Origi's story is well-known by the Liverpool faithful by now: The 19-year-old was the most surprising name on Belgium's World Cup squad, filling in for the injured Christian Benteke.
Coach Marc Wilmots took some criticism for selecting him, but the youngster shone greatly in preparation for the tournament before stealing the spotlight from Romelu Lukaku in Brazil. Liverpool secured his signature from Lille under the condition he'd be loaned back to France for the 2014-15 season.
Origi's development this season has been as good as expected: While he's still very raw when it comes to scoring (five goals in 18 appearances, according to WhoScored.com), his raw pace, technique and strong build make him an incredible asset all over the attacking third.
Fans have been salivating over the prospect of bringing the youngster to Anfield, but another season in Ligue 1 can only help Origi. As talented as he is, he's still a very raw player with limited productivity. With a little patience, the Reds could have a star on their hands.
Origi will be playing in Merseyside for the first time in his career on Thursday, taking on Liverpool rivals Everton.
