Per James Pearson of Sky Sports, Redfearn's contract is a one-year deal with a one-year option:
It has been suspected for the past week that Redfearn would be Milanic's replacement due to his deep ties with Leeds United. The 49-year-old former midfielder has been in charge of the club's youth academy and he previously served as a caretaker manager for the Whites during each of the past three seasons.
According to Sky Sports News, Redfearn's record has been impeccable in his few opportunities as head coach of the club:
While Milanic would appear to be out of the picture for the long term, there is still some mystery surrounding his status. Per Jure Bohoric of Sky Sports, the Slovenian claimed on Radio Slovenija that he is simply on hiatus.
"My contract was not terminated, I'm on paid leave. During this time I must be ready all the time to once again take over the team, if requested by the owner. My contract continues to run and I'm on vacation. I signed for two years and I will not terminate my contract.
"
Regardless of Milanic's comments, Leeds United seem committed to Redfearn as the leader for the foreseeable future.
The Peacocks are currently a disappointing 18th in the English League Championship table, but Redfearn's ascent may be enough to spur a run toward a respectable finish.
