NFL Trade Deadline 2014: Teams That Would Benefit Most from Deals
While the NFL usually does not feature too many blockbuster deals during the season, there are a number of teams that really should pull the trigger on a trade before Tuesday's deadline.
The New York Jets made the biggest move of the season so far, acquiring receiver Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks. Although the Jets are not likely looking at the playoffs this year, the dynamic playmaker is someone who can really help out in the future.
There are also a few players who could be on the block and are capable of making an impact this season. You are not going to turn a squad from nothing into a champion with a deadline deal, but some contenders can fill big needs before Week 9.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here are some squads that should make a move before the trade deadline on Oct. 28.
New Orleans Saints (Cornerback)

Although the New Orleans Saints got off to a miserable start to the season, they showed with their Week 8 win over the Green Bay Packers that they are still dangerous.
If the squad can keep winning at home and possibly get a few wins on the road, it will once again be in the playoffs.
The problem is that New Orleans still struggles do defend the pass. Aaron Rodgers threw for 418 yards Sunday night as the cornerbacks struggled to stay with Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. It is not surprising the team ranks 31st in the NFL, allowing 289.3 yards through the air per game.
Corey White made some big plays in the win and discussed afterwards his ability to make up for bad moments:
"Everyone has a bad game, everyone has a great game, and it’s up and down. ... But what you do after that game is what makes you a good player. You gotta stay confident in this league. Anytime you walk around with your head down or mope around, you’re not gonna make any plays. And offenses and quarterbacks will just keep going at you. Once they see bad body language, they’ll keep going at you. So it was good that we stayed confident.
"
The problem is that his bad mistakes continue to occur. The same holds true for Patrick Robinson and Keenan Lewis.
While New Orleans spent big money on Jairus Byrd in the offseason, the safety is out for the season. As a result, the squad needs help in the secondary and needs to get it at the trade deadline.
Cincinnati Bengals (Receiver)

After a 3-0 start, the Cincinnati Bengals have struggled lately and have gone just 1-2-1 over the last four games. On the plus side, they survived a tough test from the Baltimore Ravens and now sit in first place near the halfway mark of the season.
However, this squad is talented enough that it should not just be "surviving" tough battles at home. This could legitimately be one of the best teams in the NFL if it starts playing to its ability.
One of the big problems has been injuries, specifically to star receiver A.J. Green. On the plus side, he does expect to be back on the field soon, according to Peter Schrager of Fox Sports:
Still, it is tough to count on him to be the same type of player he once was. While Mohamed Sanu has played well in Green's absence, the squad still has to provide Andy Dalton with more weapons that will let him spread the ball around.
An addition that could seriously help him out is Vincent Jackson from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com noted the receiver has been considered in trade talks:
The Bengals should get into this race and bring in someone who can be a dangerous red-zone weapon and put Cincinnati over the top in the playoffs.
Green Bay Packers (Defensive Tackle)

While the Sunday night game showed the Saints can still put up points in a hurry, it also proved the Packers have some serious problems along the defensive line.
Mark Ingram rushed for 172 yards on 24 carries, helping Green Bay fall to last in the league in rushing yards allowed per game. In many cases, an opposing running back is not even touched until he gets to the Packers secondary.
Meanwhile, an improved pass rush could make a big difference in stopping some of the long passes that we saw Drew Brees complete in Week 8.
Bleacher Report's Chris Simms speculated on a potential trade with the Oakland Raiders for Antonio Smith:
Letroy Guion has played well at times this season, but the team needs depth at the position if it wants to contend in the NFC.
Green Bay's defense has really held the squad back this year, and this is unlikely to change unless the organization makes a move to upgrade the unit.
