ESPN, Stop Teasing Minnesota
ESPN has no faith in Minnesota sports teams.
That's fine.
if you could report it without a bias, that'd be great, thanks.
Here's another update on Brett Farve, it's the same situation as yesterday, but just so you know, he will give the Vikings an answer by July 31st, but our analysts have spent hours of their time telling you why, it may be a few days earlier than that, and earlier than the day we predicted yesterday.
Why do we need to know this?
Put it in your ticker that Farve will tell the Vikings on the 31st, and then when he finally says something, that's when you report the news.
Don't try to dishearten Minnesota fans by reporting new things every day that make it seem like Farve is waffling more than he actually is.
Also, please don't hate the Timberwolves.
I continually hear good news about Ricky Rubio coming to the US to play for Minnesota, but ESPN always has to report it with a "... but..." clause. It's actually a good thing that Rubio just came out and said he will do the buyout. ESPN made it clear that it will happen whether or not he actually comes to the NBA.
Great. We know that. We know that he could play for Real Madrid, or wait a year to re-enter the draft, but the point is, we get a glimmer of hope for this guy and you tear it away from us.
Tisk tisk ESPN.
And to continue on the Wolves, what's wrong with Jonny Flynn?
You don't need to cover Blake Griffin every single day only to briefly mention that Jonny Flynn won Rookie of the Month. I think that would make a very interesting story. Fans follow Ricky Rubio for months only to discover that the NBA decided Jonny Flynn played better than every other rookie, including Blake Griffin, including Hasheem Thabeet. I'd watch that segment, even if I hated Minnesota. That's cool!
And what's with Reporting "Jonny Flynn expects to start"? Were you listening to the interview? This is the quote. "I think that's the one thing about Minnesota is the opportunity. You know, a lot of guys that aren't in my position where they can come in and maybe have the chance to start, so I'm just going to try to take ahold of this opportunity and run with it." That quote by the way, was less than 10 seconds of the minute and a half interview, and it was one of the last questions. That's not a headline, you twisted his words.
ESPN, if you can, try to just report the facts. Don't twist the interviews, don't report the facts that only point in one direction. Give us some hope, some of the people in this state like sports, and you're the station that covers it.
So please ESPN, be nice to Minnesota.
