Arsenal AGM 2014: Key Takeaways from Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis
Arsene Wenger admitted he is likely to try and sign "one player" during the January transfer window at Arsenal's annual general meeting.
Chief executive Ivan Gazidis also discussed ticket prices during a wide-ranging discussion that pulled the veil back on some important issues surrounding the club. Team investment, injuries and life beyond Wenger were all considered after the manager's press conference, ahead of Saturday's Premier League encounter with Hull.
Supporters will be most excited to hear Wenger is planning on adding a new name to his squad when the winter market opens. His comments were reported by Miguel Delaney of ESPN and football writer SamueljayC:

Many have taken an increased interest in Arsenal's disposable income since Wenger announced the Emirates Stadium was paid off in 2013. Gazidis confirmed the club avidly stock their financial reserves to ensure the manager has money to spend, reported by Delaney:

The Gunners board member also aimed to clarify that the club's ability to offer increasing wages isn't linked to making ticket prices more expensive. Those who descend upon the Emirates are faced with the most expensive single and season tickets in European football, per BBC Sport, but Gazidis indicated this isn't to help satisfy the squad's financial wants, per Delaney:
Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick was also in attendance and batted away questions about the £3 million sum majority owner Stan Kroenke withdrew from the club.
Kroenke Sports Enterprises was paid for "strategic and advisory fees," according to David Kent of the Mail Online, but the Arsenal Supporters Trust headed into the AGM wanting to know whether there was a competitive tender for the process, and indeed, if it is likely to happen again.

Keswick confirmed he had a part to play in the fee, reported by James Olley of the London Evening Standard:
Away from financials, Wenger divulged on the myriad injury problems Arsenal have suffered this season. He suggested bad luck, rather than poor training methods, are to blame for the Gunners' squad seemingly always missing key players, per Delaney:
Interestingly, chatter of a post-Wenger Arsenal also took place. Shareholders probed as to whether there's any procedure put in place to stop the "post-Sir Alex Ferguson effect," which has seen Manchester United suffer terribly in the intervening period since the legendary manager retired.

Keswick doesn't expect Wenger to leave any time soon but claimed the Arsenal job will be sought after when he does, tweeted by Delaney:
With Arsenal currently lingering eighth in the Premier League, Wenger suggested his team need to be establishing leads if they wish to progress further up the table. Delaney reported the Frenchman's comments:
Wenger also spoke of last season, which proved a strange campaign due to Arsenal losing massively against elite clubs—despite putting together consistent winning runs, per Delaney:
As ever, shareholders and fans used the AGM to gain a little more insight into the inside thinking at the Emirates. Arsenal stand on the brink of being legitimate title contenders but desperately need one or two more world-class additions to complete with Chelsea and Manchester City.
Wenger's suggestion that this craving could be partly satisfied in January will have supporters excited, but there's no doubt questions will continue to remain about the involvement of Kroenke and what fans can expect when their leader finally steps down.
