Top 10 2-Footed Players in World Football Right Now

Mark JonesOct 6, 2014

All footballers have got two feet, it's just that some use both of them more than others.

The true two-footed player is a special thing to have on your side, they can open up space for others by being comfortable on both sides, and can take chances which other players would hesitate over as they tried to shift the ball onto their "better" foot.

Who are the best in the game at the moment, though? Here's a Top 10.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

1 of 10

As he proved in the Champions League at Bayer Leverkusen last season, Zlatan Ibrahimovic can certainly hit the ball with his "wrong" left foot.

As he then proved after the game, the Swede's ego won't allow him to even consider that he's got a "wrong" foot in the first place.

Radamel Falcao

2 of 10

Radamel Falcao's first two starts for Manchester United indicated that he is so much more than just a goalscorer, as he assisted goals for Robin van Persie against both Leicester City and West Ham.

The Colombian picked out the Dutchman with this terrific left-footed cross at the King Power Stadium, showcasing that, as well as being able to score with his right foot and head, he's pretty much got everything you need.

Neymar

3 of 10

Keeping a player on their weaker side is often a key tactic in nullifying some of the great talents, but as Neymar showed in Brazil's World Cup opener against Croatia he's as confident shooting on his left foot as he is with his right.

Brazil's bright hope may have scuffed his shot somewhat but it still found the bottom corner for his side's equaliser, and a stunning summer of football had lift-off.

Toni Kroos

4 of 10

Now at Real Madrid, Toni Kroos has established himself as one of world football's premier central midfielders over the past few years of fine performances for former club Bayern Munich and his country Germany, who he helped guide to the World Cup in the summer.

He's not a regular scorer, but when he does find the net it is often through spectacular strikes either from distance or on the volley such as this goal against Mainz.

Franck Ribery

5 of 10

Very few players in modern times have shown the levels of comfort with both feet that Franck Ribery regularly displays when he's fit and on form.

Injury troubles may have affected the French star recently, but there have been very few footballers who've managed his level of performance for Bayern Munich over the past few years, and for that he deserves to be recognised.

Cristiano Ronaldo

6 of 10

Obviously he's one of the finest players to ever play the game, but you could probably make a pretty convincing argument that Cristiano Ronaldo has one of the best left foots in world football, too.

As the video above demonstrates, the Portugal and Real Madrid superstar is equally at home on both his left and his right side, with a wide array of brilliant goals and moments from a man who specialises in them.

Luka Modric

7 of 10

Ronaldo's teammate at Real, Croatian midfielder Luka Modric utilises his expert weighting of a pass to make him one of the standout midfielders in the modern game.

The former Tottenham man may have taken a season to settle at the Bernabeu, but he has now become one of Carlo Ancelotti's most trusted lieutenants, and was a key member of the team which won the Champions League last season.

Santi Cazorla

8 of 10

Although not quite of the level of some of the world stars on this list, Arsenal's Santi Cazorla does demonstrate a willingness to use both feet when he plays, so much so that plenty of people aren't sure which one is his strongest.

The question was posed to the man himself by ArsenalFanTV, with the Spaniard answering that his right is the strongest, but his left's pretty good, too.

Adriano

9 of 10

Continuing on the theme of the players who aren't exactly at the world's summit but rather seemingly committed to using both feet, Barcelona's reliable jack-of-all-trades Adriano Correia has seemingly lasted at the Nou Camp this long simply because he can use both his left and right foot.

The 29-year-old is comfortable both at left-back and the left side of midfield, often joining in with attacks and giving the ball to teammates who are considered to be of greater quality.

Pedro

10 of 10

Like Adriano, Barcelona's Pedro doesn't always take the headlines at a club side which is dominated by the influences of others, but it is his ability to switch the ball from one foot to the other which has marked him out as an important player for the Catalans.

Again like Adriano, Pedro might not be universally valued outside of the Nou Camp, but Barca value him highly largely down to ambidexterity.
