Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Must Make Most of Pedro's Barca Doubt This Winter
Concerns over playing time have led Pedro to reassess his Barcelona future, and sources suggest Arsenal will be among those vying to give the attacker a route out of Catalan country this winter.
According to Fichajes.net (h/t Metro's Will Giles), the forward isn't hopeful of his chances improving once Luis Suarez's ban comes to an end in October, presuming that his chances will be even fewer in number.

If rumours of his discontent are true, Pedro would be a fine addition to Arsene Wenger's ranks, only six months since they acquired the player with whom the Spaniard had previously contested for playing time, Alexis Sanchez.
In the Chilean's place, Pedro has found youngsters Munir El-Haddadi, Sandro and Rafinha emerge as potential competition, Luis Enrique looking to leave a youthful imprint on the senior side.
Despite their rise to prominence at Camp Nou, however, Pedro has been quoted in praising the new starlets on the Barca block, per Jamie Kemp of Inside Spanish Football:
"It’s true I’m missing the goals at the moment but I’m happy overall and confident that they’ll arrive soon. The most important thing is that we’re playing very well. We are comfortable and feeling good about what we’ve got going.
The manager asks us to press very high up the pitch, and to attack straight away when we steal the ball. It’s a similar way to the way we’ve always played but I think we’re less open this time. It’s served us very well so far but we must keep improving on it.
What I want to do is keep working and compete with the forwards that we have here, they are the best in the world and it’s never been easy to hold down a place in this team. We are all motivated by what the likes of Munir and Sandro are doing at the moment, they want to do well for the team. And Luis (Suárez) too, when he is here, we’ll be even better.
"
It's an awfully unselfish candour from the winger, but that maturity may give way to more bitter tones if the current trend continues and the club's prospects remain on the ascent.
Pedro is yet to complete a 90-minute outing as of yet this season, having been withdrawn in his most recent two outings, and yet to play a direct hand in his side scoring.

From Wenger's perspective, he may look to remember the apparent target more for the form he displayed last season, where Pedro scored 15 league goals and averaged one chance created per game, per Squawka.
The BBC's South American correspondent Juan Arango noted that this may not be the same player, however:
And it's in that vein of thinking that a change of setting may be seen as the best option for Pedro, who like Sanchez, could become a far more valued member of his community at the Emirates Stadium.
There is a question as to how Pedro would fit in, his talents at their most valuable on the right flank, a position that Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and others are currently competing for.

His skill set would work on the opposite side, too, as it has done for Barcelona, but it may be the case that Wenger has to sell property before making new investments.
That being said, a player of Pedro's quality doesn't become available often, and the emergence of new options under Enrique would determine that his situation is one that can be exploited.
Sanchez has taken to England comfortably, scoring a superb goal in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Saturday, and it may be another Barcelona misfit who comes to find new prosperity in north London this January.
