Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Latest Updates on 2015 Commits, Visits, Targets
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — After a strong summer stretch of landing commitments, it has been a bit more than two months since Notre Dame football landed its last pledge.
But the Irish have been active on the recruiting circuit. Their class of 2015 stands at 17 members, and they’ll be looking to continue to fill out the group as the season progresses.
Notre Dame hosted arguably its biggest recruiting weekend of the season when it faced Michigan two weeks ago under the lights at Notre Dame Stadium.

The Irish followed that up with a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to square off with Purdue in the Shamrock Series—a matchup replete with new Under Armour uniforms specially made for the occasion for Notre Dame.

Three weeks into the regular season and with the Irish heading into their first bye week, let’s check in on some of the happenings in Notre Dame’s class of 2015.
Asmar Bilal
1 of 4
With just one linebacker in the fold for the class of 2015, Notre Dame has been busy at the position of late.
The Irish have been tracking 4-star linebacker target Asmar Bilal, the No. 180 player in the nation, per 247Sports. Though Notre Dame was camped out this weekend in Indianapolis—Bilal’s hometown—the 6’3”, 205-pounder did not visit for Saturday’s game.
Still, according to Tom Loy of Blue & Gold Illustrated, Bilal is down to Notre Dame and Michigan.

Though he didn’t come to them at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night, the Irish went to him Friday night, as Notre Dame defensive line coach Mike Elston was situated at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, per Loy.

Notre Dame would love to add Bilal to the linebacker mix. As it stands right now, 4-star pledge Josh Barajas is the only linebacker commitment in the class of 2015 for the Irish.
Iman Marshall
2 of 4
It could be difficult to lure 5-star cornerback and Long Beach, California, native Iman Marshall away from USC. But Notre Dame took another step in the right direction Sunday night when Marshall—the No. 5 overall player in the nation—confirmed his intention to take an official visit to Notre Dame.
"Got my 5 officials will be released tomorrow morning

"It's Official ™ pic.twitter.com/f9e0tHlmeo

The 6’1”, 190-pound Marshall is slotted as the No. 1 cornerback in the country. Needless to say, landing him would be a major victory for the Irish.
Notre Dame already has three cornerback commitments in Shaun Crawford, Ashton White and Nick Coleman. But there figures to always be room for someone of Marshall’s caliber.
Soso Jamabo
3 of 4
Notre Dame has continued to court 4-star running back Soso Jamabo, the No. 3 back in the nation.
The 6’3”, 210-pounder took an official visit for the Michigan game and has an official visit scheduled at UCLA on Oct. 10.

While he’s still deciding on his collegiate path, Jamabo turned heads with a recent high school performance. Jamabo racked up a whopping 484 rushing yards and six touchdowns two Fridays ago.

Notre Dame already has running back Josh Adams committed to the class of 2015. Jamabo, however, would be a marquee addition to Notre Dame’s skill position crop of commitments.
Tristen Hoge
4 of 4
Center Tristen Hoge has been committed to Notre Dame since Dec. 7, 2013. The top center in the country is a 4-star prospect and the No. 93 overall player in the nation.
Hoge visited South Bend, Indiana, for the Michigan game and, otherwise, has been fairly quiet on the recruiting trail.
Loy reported (subscription required) in February that Hoge plans to enroll early. Hoge reiterated that via Twitter last Monday.
"Another great trip to South Bend. Can't wait to be back for good in January.
— Super-T (@HogeTristen) September 8, 2014"
If and when Hoge does arrive early on campus, the extra semester should aid his transition to the collegiate game. Irish freshman defensive end Andrew Trumbetti enrolled for the spring semester and has been firmly entrenched in the two-deep. Sophomore offensive lineman Steve Elmer was an early enrollee two cycles ago, and Elmer made four starts as a freshman and is the starting right tackle this season.
That’s not to say Hoge will start early on for the Irish, but the extra semester can’t hurt the 6’5”, 292-pound center.
