Maidana vs. Mayweather 2: Weigh-in Results, Odds, Fight Time and Undercard Info
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Rene Maidana made weight. Mayweather weighed in at 146.5 pounds and Maidana was a ready 146. The card gets underway on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
Here's a look at the weigh-in.
Before Mayweather and Maidana step into the ring, fans will be treated to an undercard with recognizable names.
Alfredo Angulo will face James De La Rosa. Leo Santa Cruz will defend his WBC super bantamweight title against Manuel Roman and IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez will face Mayweather Promotions product Mickey Bey.
A raucous crowd was in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the weigh-in.
The reception was mixed for El Chino. Initially, boos rang out as Jimmy Lennon announced the challenger’s name, but some of the Maidana contingent made themselves heard as the fighter made his way to the stage.

Maidana was wearing the classic colors of the Argentina flag, with trainer Robert Garcia and other members of the fighter's team also making an appearance.
Fans were far warmer toward Mayweather as he approached the stage. Aptly, the champion wore money green and white.
There was no drama during the staredown. Both men showed mutual respect during the face-to-face meeting and didn't engage in any real gamesmanship. The two men know and acknowledge the skills their opponent brings into the ring and will save the hostilities for the real show.
During the post-weigh-in interview with both fighters, things stayed respectful. Through a translator, Maidana told Showtime’s Jim Gray, “I’m calm and confident. I want to change history and change Mayweather’s record.”
Gray asked Mayweather if he was more vulnerable in the rematch. Mayweather said: “I’m just ready to fight." When asked about his approach to just the second rematch in his career, Mayweather said: “It’s all about me taking my time and doing what I’m supposed to do.”
After the weigh-in was done, the Las Vegas odds didn’t change. Mayweather is still listed as a minus-800 favorite over Maidana. Money is 37 years old, and that is perhaps the key number.
Is this the night when he finally shows his age? If so, you couldn’t tell by his physical conditioning or demeanor. He was chiseled and poised. Maidana looked equally as solid, but it was interesting to see that he was a half-pound lighter than Mayweather.
It’s clear he plans to come in a little smaller than he did in the first fight. Perhaps he believes he’ll have more stamina in the later rounds. We'll see if there are any other adjustments made by either of the fighters.
Will this be another action-packed bout, or will Mayweather make easy work of Maidana the second time around? We'll find out soon enough.
