Thanks Tiger: For Being Oh So Human
Thank you Tiger Woods.
Thanks for looking so very human at Turnberry on Friday.
Thanks for looking like the rest of us.
We can all relate to you getting frustrated, then coming unglued on a golf course.
Thanks for making two double bogeys in a four-hole stretch. We've all done that.
Thanks for the 200-yard pop-up tee shot at nine, then that right-of-right tee shot at the 10th hole. They'll be looking for that golf ball three days from now.
Thanks Tiger, thanks for hitting shots like the rest of us.
Thanks for slamming your clubs in frustration.
Thanks for all those missed fairways and greens. It's exactly the way most of us play the game.
Thanks for looking scared out there.
"I could see the fear in his eyes," is what commentator Ian Baker-Finch, the 1991 Open champion told us.
Thanks Tiger, for still not giving up even when things were going totally against you.
There you were, still trying to make the cut with birdies at 16 and 17.
But they couldn't undo the damage.
You went down with your guns blazing, but you were out of bullets.
You fell valiantly on your sword and they can now carry you on your shield, back to your private jet.
You can fly back to Florida, head over to Jupiter Island, and check the construction progress on your new compound.
You can head down the road to Old Port Cove, gas up the Privacy and head for the Bahamas.
You've got the weekend off and you need it.
You are in desperate need of some serious R&R.
You looked simply awful in that second round. You were human after all.
And we thank you for that.
