Chelsea Transfer News: Lucas Piazon Must Remain and Fight for Blues Spotlight
In light of his recent loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt, Lucas Piazon has left the door open regarding a potential permanent move to Germany, having grown frustrated with life at Stamford Bridge.
With only one Premier League appearance to his name, the 20-year-old is now enjoying his chances in the Bundesliga and told German newspaper Bild (h/t ESPN FC's Stephan Uersfeld) of his future intentions:
"I think it's normal. Chelsea have so many very good players, and currently it'd be difficult for me to find a place there. Here, I can play here and gather experience. I am only 20 now. And like I've said, everything can happen in football. If everything fits, I can certainly imagine staying in Frankfurt. I'll move into my flat next week. And I'll begin language school this week to learn German.

Piazon has reigned as one of the Blues' biggest prospects in recent years, arriving from Sao Paulo in 2011 after a hard-fought battle for his signature ensued.
Since then, temporary spells with Malaga and Vitesse Arnhem have followed, Frankfurt being his third club in the last two years.
It has, however, given the Brazilian some valuable first-team experience, and he went on to give an account of his travels:
"I came to Chelsea directly from Brazil. I know everyone at the club. Of course, I'd wish to play for there again. But football is a bag of tricks, everything can change so fast. Malaga was a bit like Brazil. The beach, the sun, easy football. In Netherlands, the language is as complicated as here. But the league was weaker. Everything's more professional in Frankfurt. The Bundesliga is one of the most difficult leagues, and that's why it's fun to play there.
"
Piazon's mentality is a surprisingly mature one for his age, with some players often suffering due to their desires to flourish with their parent clubs only to wallow in a fringe role season after season.
Last season's switch to Vitesse was the most fruitful of his career to date, and Squawka Football illustrated via Twitter just what a creative force he was during his spell in the Eredivisie:
Granted, Piazon's position doesn't come without its share of competition at Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle and countrymen Oscar and Willian vying for similar places to the one he'd be seeking.
Even Mohamed Salah—a respected attacker in his own right—has struggled to figure prominently since moving to west London. Daily Mail outlines just how deep Chelsea's ranks run, with an astonishing 26 players currently out on loan:
Despite the mass of talent at Stamford Bridge, however, there are those at the club who have the power to make a first-team impact, and Piazon sits as arguably the pick of the bunch.
Earlier this summer, WhoScored.com broke down the attacker's strengths and weaknesses, without much to account for in the latter column:
That's not to say his senior progress should be interrupted, and if Piazon were to remain in the English capital for the 2015-16 campaign, it would almost definitely lead to a substantial drop in playing time.
However, no academy graduate will waltz into a place in the starting XI at Chelsea; it's just not the way the club is run, given their propensity for acquiring Europe's best and brightest.

With another season of top-flight football under his belt, however, there would be less room for manager Jose Mourinho to ignore an asset evidently growing season after season, and having served his time as a serial loan subject.
These next few years may well be a turning point in the youngster's career, and as such it's essential there's at least some promise of involvement.
It may not be substantial at Chelsea, but next season could be Piazon's first genuine chance at the Blues squad, and he should stick around to stake his claim.
