Milan Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of September 8
Ten players moved to AC Milan in the summer, and now that the transfer window is closed, coach Pippo Inzaghi has to find a way to make it all work.
Inzaghi did not inherit the team that finished eighth in Serie A last year. This edition is surely better, and it is has always been his goal to bring fans back to the San Siro.
"We will try to give everyone a hard time but I don't know where we will finish," Inzaghi told a news conference (h/t FourFourTwo). "After one month of work I can confirm the team has heart. We will win the fans over."
Milan won their first game against Lazio, and they looked like a confident bunch.
But rumours are not patient. There are ways to improve, and the January window opens in just a few months. (Imagine the possibilities!)
Here are a couple more players in the mix.
Suso a Real Possibility for Milan
1 of 2
Reports in the Italian press last week seemed to indicate that 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Suso agreed to a deal with AC Milan, per Nick Lustig of the Daily Star. Liverpool rejected Milan's advances to take Suso on loan for the season, and Milan could wait until next summer when the player's contract expires.
But Suso seems happy at Anfield. In an interview on Liverpool's official website, the midfielder spoke of his appreciation for coach Brendan Rodgers and the Spanish style of play he preaches: "Every time he asks us to do something, it's with the ball. He wants us to play with the ball, never play a long ball and for me that's really good because that's my philosophy. When I go away with Spain it's more or less the same."
That has not stopped the rumours. Suso is not a starter with Liverpool, and reports in the Italian press persist.
"The Italian press (Di Marzio, Tuttosport) seems pretty convinced that Liverpool's Suso will join Milan, next season most likely.

Suso played on loan with Almeria last season.
Fabio Borini Wants to Come Home
2 of 2
Fabio Borini famously rejected a move to Queens Park Rangers this summer over his wages. Borini could not reach an agreement with QPR, per James Riach of The Guardian, despite his club Liverpool agreeing to the move.
On Twitter, he defended himself:
"Finally the madness is finished! I protected the MAN and the player that I am today...
— fabio borini (@borinifabio29) September 2, 2014"
"...taking all the responsibility of the situation and for people who didn't want it...
— fabio borini (@borinifabio29) September 2, 2014"
But perhaps he made the decision for a different reason.
Sportitalia reports that the 23-year-old is simply waiting for a call from a Serie A club (h/t Football Italia). Juventus, Inter and Milan have all been linked with him in the past, and Borini could make a move back home in January.
