Mayweather vs. Maidana 2: Live Stream Schedule for Rematch Weigh-in

R. Cory SmithSep 12, 2014

After one of the closest matches of Floyd Mayweather's career, the 46-0 boxer will step back into the ring against Marcos Maidana. Prior to either fighter putting on the gloves, they will put on a show during the weigh-in.

Thanks to the rivalry between the two, the weigh-in promises to bring plenty of excitement. Other than just the actual weighing process, expect trash talking and potentially some physicality before the fight.

The swagger of Mayweather is typically untouchable, but Maidana has been adamant that he's ready to knock off the pound-for-pound champion. As they both prepare to finally showdown, the intensity will be evident during the weigh-in.

Before the fight officially gets underway, here's a look at where and when to watch the weigh-in leading up to "Mayhem."

What to Expect During Weigh-In

Confidence From Mayweather

Maybe this is to be expected, but after the last fight there's reason to question his confidence.

Money was truly tested by Maidana and has said in the past that El Chino was a worthy opponent. In fact, he was candid about his thoughts on Maidana following the initial bout, per Showtime Sports:

Since that time, Mayweather has been working to reach peak physical shape yet again in the gym. During the 30-day weigh-in, Money was near fighting weight at 150 pounds while El Chino came in at 158 pounds, according to Miguel Rivera of Boxing Scene.

Both fighters still have to shed some pounds ahead of the weigh-in, but it's clear Mayweather is prepared for the rematch. As for what Mayweather's been working on since the last bout, he shared that with David Mayo of MLive.com:

"

What I can do, what makes me a little different than any other fighter, is I'm well-rounded and very versatile, as far as I can box, I can counterpunch, I can bang, I can do a little bit of everything. That's why I'm at the pinnacle in the sport right now. Can he switch up anything? I don't really think so. I mean, that's just my gut feeling

"

Trash talk is as much a part of Mayweather's career as his unblemished record. Expect more of the same confidence when Money is on the stage as he plays up the part of the favorite in the bout.

The weigh-in process will likely be similar to the first match, with both fighters teeming with assurance. Only this time, Maidana comes in with a similar swagger about his preparation for the match.

Maidana Throwing Verbal Jabs

Confidence from Mayweather is nothing new, but Maidana seems sure of himself coming into the rematch.

After a close bout that left one card at 114-114, El Chino proved he has what it takes to challenge Money. He also took quite a bit away from the first match, as he shared prior to the weigh-in, per Elias Cepeda of Yahoo:

"

He's not as good as people think. ... I was able to pin him to the ropes and land punches, so he's not as difficult or as invincible as people think. He's hittable. You can land on him. I made mistakes. I was a little too anxious. He never hurt me, but he's got a respectable punch. You've got to respect him.

I've had a little more time to prepare for this fight. ... So this time I'm going to be ready.

"

Those comments, yeah, they're fighting words. And with the brimming tenacity that Maidana has shown, boxing fans can expect even more during the weigh-in.

The Argentine boxer has thrown plenty of verbal barbs at Mayweather, but he will have to live up to that hype in the ring. He will also have to prove that the fight will be worth watching due to an underwhelming undercard, as Dan Rafael of ESPN notes:

Given another shot to hand Mayweather the first loss of his career, Maidana comes in with reason to believe he can seal the deal. Expect to see that same confidence and determination during the weigh-in.
