Cleveland Cavaliers Offseason Wrap Up So Far
The Cleveland Cavaliers are close to wrapping up their offseason. With likely two more players coming on the way, one a veteran PG and a "stretch" PF.
The Shaq move is likely the BOLDEST move of the summer, which is yet to be seen as a good or bad move. For sure, it helps slow down Howard who ripped right through Cavaliers defense in the ECF.
They have also managed to resign Anderson Varejao and sign Anthony Parker. Parker could be a starting SG or 6th man for the Cavs. Varejao, who played a key role on the Cavaliers in their 60+ win season, is unsure if he will start or not because combined with Shaq, he would clog LeBron's lane to the basket.
In the draft the Cavs selected Christian Eyenga and Danny Green. Eyenga has a high "ceiling" or upside. The team he played for also produced Ricky Rubio, and the Cavaliers' scouts fell in love with his talent. Green was a big sleeper and a player who could have been a star if he played on a team with less talent then UNC. Green has already signed and Eyenga will likely develop in Europe for 2-to-3 years.
Could Be Future Cavs
Matt Barnes: Can play both forward positsions. Is a little skinny for PF and is mostly a SF. If he adds a couple pounds, could be very useful.
Linas Kleiza: Good young player with more of a PF body. Only problem is, he is a RFA and could be headed to Pistons through S&T.
Hakim Warrick: Is the third option if unable to get the two above. Good player. Needs to work on his shot.
Wally Sczerbiak: Knows the team and can still shoot. If all else fails he looks like the man they will sign.
Joey Grahm: Reported by Plain Dealer that Cavs have showed interest in him. Another guy if unable to get Barnes or Kleiza.
