Favre Legacy Everlasting!
Is Brett Favre's legacy harmed by the retirement/unretirement act that keeps popping up every off-season? Or by the seemingly impossible return to the Packers rival? Most people seem to think so, but I do not. I believe his legacy will hold strong and the events have been skewed by the media.
Through the time machine, we all can recall what was talked about in the off-season after the 2007-2008 season. Brett has been described as not being able to make up his mind, yo-yoing back and forth. The Pack (Thompson) has been designated the guy that forced Favre to retire and turned his back on Green Bay's Golden Boy.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In my opinion, it was a mixture of both. Brett was tired and sore after the 2007-2008 season and the Packers wanted an answer quick, which led to retirement. Both were wrong in several ways, and both were right, but that doesn't tarnish his legacy.
Favre faced many issues, the open addiction to pain killers, the indecision with retirement, playing while hurt and hurting the New York Jets, and wanting to play the game even when he was starting to break down.
However, let's not forget the three MVP awards, the Super Bowl ring, the Monday night game after his father’s death, playing while Deanna was battling breast cancer, and having the passion in a game where people feel they are above the rest of us. The majority of players only play for money, yet Favre turned down $25 million in order to play.
Favre plays football for one reason, to play football. His legacy is simple, he's a tough SOB who accomplished a lot and overcame many road blocks. If he wants to play somewhere, let him, he has earned the right.
I am a Packer Fan and a Favre fan; I plan on not watching the two games where the Vikes and the Pack play each other because it will be heartbreaking either way. However, I will always wish Brett the best, and his legacy will not be tarnished by playing for a legitimate team who wants him, regardless of the outcome.
He made mistakes, but nothing he did was held in comparison to Pacman Jones or Plaxico Burress. He also never totally disrespected a team similar to the way Terrell Owens disrespected every team he ever suited up for. Favre may think highly of himself but he wants to play football and he wants to win.
Favre has said nothing this offseason besides him saying he is interested in coming back and "maybe" he would play for the Vikings. Every other statement has either been a little birdie, a doctor, or totally fabricated by other news sources to appear to have the breaking news.
Let the man play! If he does well in Minnesota everyone but Packers fans will see it as incredible and the right decision. If he flops, everyone will say he should have hung it up. Wait until February to judge.
And in a year or two from now, all will die down. Favre will sign with the Packers for a day just to retire a Packer and in five years he will be a QB coach for the Packers and all will be forgiven. Time heals all wounds, even in Lombardi Land, the heart of football!
