Last-Minute Predictions for Hulk Hogan as WrestleMania 30 Host

Tim KeeneyApr 6, 2014

Hulk Hogan made WrestleMania what it is today.

From his pairing up with Mr. T in the very first installment on The Grandest Stage of Them All to his iconic slam of Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III to this numerous other main event victories and appearances, the Hulkster is WrestleMania, brother.

That's why it makes sense to have him as host of the 30th anniversary of the year's biggest event, and that's why it makes sense for the 60-year-old to have some sort of WrestleMania moment after a nearly decade-long hiatus.

What exactly that moment turns out to be is anyone's guess, but endless speculation and anticipation is part of the allure of this massive event.

Perhaps the best way to conjure up a prediction for Hogan's involvement is to take a look at the last time there was a guest host who made his highly anticipated return to WrestleMania after a significant break.

That, of course, would be The Rock at WrestleMania XXVII in 2011.

The People's Champion ended up interfering in the main event between John Cena and The Miz, and after taking out both competitors, he stood atop the turnbuckles as the show went off the air, laying the groundwork for next year's mega-battle with Cena.

It obviously shouldn't go that far with Hogan, but there was one segment from 2011 that the company could attempt to replicate with "The Immortal One":

A simple backstage reunion segment like that can go a long way for fans, but who would be the Stone Cold in this scenario?

Two likely choices are either the Ultimate Warrior or Sting. The latter is currently in New Orleans, and there have been rumors that he will face The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXXI next year. Moreover, Hogan himself recently teased an appearance from both wrestlers when giving his prediction for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in an interview with the RedEye's Ted Gruber:

"Right now the Big Show or Big E. Langston have a good chance to win it. But if something crazy happens like Sting or Ultimate Warrior show up, anything could happen."

A nostalgia-driven moment of that nature would be well received and is a solid bet, and outside of that, Hogan will most likely be involved with the Battle Royal and WWE championship.

Don't rule him out joining the 30-man battle as one of the final three surprise entrants or advancing Daniel Bryan to title match if the most over superstar in the business loses to Triple-H.

No matter what happens, though, Hogan will undoubtedly find a way to have yet another memorable moment at WrestleMania.

And you can count on that, brother.
