Top 2015 Recruits Who Committed Early to a Big 12 School
Several Big 12 schools have gotten early commitments from recruits in the Top 250 of the 2015 247Sports composite rankings.
With Missouri and Texas A&M now in the SEC, recruiting in the Big 12 has become tougher. Teams in the conference now have to deal with SEC juggernauts coming onto their turf looking for the same players they're eyeing.
However, Baylor has another solid receiver coming to Waco, while Oklahoma and Texas have talented offensive line commitments. Plus, West Virginia already has a 4-star safety locked up.
All recruiting ratings and rankings are from 247Sports.
Jordan Stevenson, RB
1 of 9
Committed to: Texas
At 5'8" and 185 pounds, 4-star running back Jordan Stevenson is not very big or strong. However, with the speed he has, strength doesn't matter.
The Texas native displays good vision to locate creases behind the line of scrimmage before bursting through them with explosiveness. Stevenson has outstanding elusiveness with the ball, plus he can pull away from defenders in the open field.
He'll make big plays as a runner, receiver and returner in Austin.
Jovon Durante, WR
2 of 9
Committed to: West Virginia
Anyone who watches college football knows how much West Virginia likes to throw the ball. That's why head coach Dana Holgorsen will always want to load up on receivers.
Jovon Durante has already pledged to catch passes in Morgantown, and he's going to catch plenty of them. From Miami, Durante is a 4-star run-after-catch specialist who has more quickness than pure speed. He has solid hands and ball skills, which help him pluck passes on the move with his mitts.
He's a great fit for the Mountaineers offense.
Connor Lanfear, OT
3 of 9
Committed to: Texas
Connor Lanfear is a 4-star offensive tackle who flashes patience as a pass-protector. He strikes with above-average hand placement, and uses his long arms to keep defenders from getting into his body.
Lanfear, who is 6'5.5" and 285 pounds, has solid agility to cut off inside moves. He plays with solid strength at the point of attack, and he's a tough customer.
Left tackle is a possibility at Texas for him.
"He plays hard all of the way to the whistle.

Kendrell McFadden, S
4 of 9
Committed to: West Virginia
The No. 156 player in the 2015 247Sports composite rankings is 4-star safety Kendrell McFadden. The 6'3.5", 193-pounder combines excellent size with good vision.
McFadden, who is from Florida, is a long athlete who has deceptive strength and great ball skills. He's comfortable shuffling in space, and doesn't waste steps when attacking the line of scrimmage versus running plays.
He has a chance to play early at West Virginia.
Bobby Evans, TE/OT
5 of 9
Committed to: Oklahoma
A 4-star prospect from Texas, Bobby Evans is an interesting player. He appears to play tight end, but he has limited footage catching passes and running routes.
The 6'4", 250-pounder is basically an undersized offensive tackle right now. Although he flashes the athleticism to become a solid tight end in college, Evans probably would be best served to add more weight and strength and become a full-time offensive tackle.
He has good strength at the point of attack, plus he displays an impressive amount of agility that would allow him to become a terrific pass-protector.
Chad President, WR
6 of 9
Committed to: Baylor
Coming off of a torn ACL in 2013 (247Sports), 4-star receiver Chad President has to prove he's healthy.
If so, Baylor could be getting a future stud at the receiver position.
President is a Texas native who is 6'3" and 190 pounds. He possesses above-average quickness when releasing off the line, as well as natural hands in traffic. President has solid speed, and is sufficient at keeping himself between a defender and a running back as a blocker.
Marquise Overton, DT
7 of 9Committed to: Oklahoma
At 6'1" and 301 pounds, Marquise Overton doesn't have great height for a defensive tackle. Yet, he uses it to his advantage at the point of attack by playing with good leverage.
The 4-star Oklahoma native plays for powerhouse Jenks High School, where he uses his quickness at the snap to suddenly engage with offensive linemen. Overton has great strength, especially when he plays with a flat back.
He hustles in pursuit of the ball, and can push the pocket as a pass-rusher.
Patrick Vahe, OG
8 of 9
Committed to: Texas
Patrick Vahe is a 4-star guard who is at his best when short-setting as a pass-protector. He usually wins with strength and power, but the Texan does flash some agility and short-area quickness.
Vahe, who is 6'3" and 280 pounds, locates his targets as quickly as anyone in the country. He doesn't fall for many stunts and twists, and he has solid pull/trap skills.
Vahe could be an All-Big 12 guard for the Longhorns.
Josh Wariboko, OG
9 of 9
Committed to: Oklahoma
Josh Wariboko is a 4-star guard who is ranked 98th in the 2015 247Sports composite rankings. He has excellent power in his initial punch on targets—plus he's 6'3.5" and 280 pounds.
The 4-star Oklahoma pledge shows good short-area range and agility as a pass-protector, and stymies rushers with sharp power when striking. He can drive his hips through defenders as a run-blocker, and Wariboko can help out at center.
