The future is finally here.

Famous Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, the man behind most of the Air Jordan series and many other popular shoes, confirmed Friday that the power laces from Back to the Future II will finally make it out in the real world in 2015.

According to Sole Collector, Hatfield made the announcement in New Orleans:

During an appearance at the Jordan Brand's Flight Lab space in New Orleans earlier today, designer Tinker Hatfield was asked about the possibility of seeing power lacing next year, and his answer may surprise you.

"Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!" said Hatfield.

In 2011, Nike created 1,500 pairs of Marty McFly's iconic shoes for charity, but the Nike MAGs released at that time did not include power laces.

No word yet if the power laces will be coming to just the MAGs or other Nike kicks as well.
