John Beilein: One of the Hardest Working Coaches
Michigan Men's Basketball head coach John Beilein should be very excited. His Wolverines are back in the spotlight after having a bit of a bad spell. OK, It was more than just a spell.
As a season ticket holder to Crisler Arena and walking past a muddy, dirty and snow covered Michigan football stadium walking in winds sometimes, in below zero frigid temperature's, the basketball being played on the court inside made it all worth while. I warmed up quickly.
Watching coach Beilein always teaching on the sidelines telling any player within a earshot of what wrong or what right was going on the court. Coach Beilein's Wolverines are a what you call "The Young Bunch." Only three seniors on the roster last season and only two this coming season Beilein, will be back in class teaching basketball's X's and O's.

I enjoyed seeing coach Beilein roam the sidelines and teach and talk and sometimes wondered if he was talking to himself. His (coach Beilein) system is complex and his 1-3-1 zone defense is tough for me to understand. I'm sure coach Beilein would explain it to me and I would say, OK, coach I got it.
I really can't wait for this coming basketball season. With games like Kansas and Utah on the road I'll be glued to my flat screen TV seeing a master at work teaching hoops to whomever is on the court. Hopefully "The Young Bunch" will be listening.
Manny Harris and D. Sims the leaders on the court and in the locker room.
Seeing 7'0" center Ben Cronin blocking shots and grabbing rebounds, Darius Morris dishing out passes to a wide open Stu Douglass standing just beyond the three-point line and hearing the swish of the net. Having Zack Novak play tough defense and have game winning dunks err... More like game winning lay ups. (Michigan fans know what I'm talking about).
Just Michigan Basketball again. It's fun to watch and talk about it. And head coach John Beilein has made it that way.
