Breaking Down the Route and Course (via HalfMarathons.net)

Running 13.1 miles is not what most consider an ideal way to spend a Sunday morning, but even casual fans can get behind the idea of competing for a career-best time in the middle of a place as magical as Disneyland.
Starting in the Disney California Adventure Park, runners will be joined by spectators and volunteers showing support, but it could be the characters that adorn the course during these annual races that make it so unique.
Who doesn’t want to grab a much-needed cup of water from Donald Duck?
After making their way through the heart of the park, the athletes will move on to Paradise Bay before making their way past Tinkerbell’s house in the Pixie Hollow portion of the grounds. Once past that point, runners will make their way through the historical streets of Anaheim.
Competitors will return to Disneyland through the GardenWalk and the race will culminate as the runners make their way to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
Not only is this event a great warm-up for those athletes trying to build a tolerance for long-distance running, but it’s also a great way to keep in shape and a great excuse to spend time in one of the most magical places on earth.
