Duke Basketball: Latest Updates on Blue Devils' Top 2014 Recruits
With the way the past week has gone for the Blue Devils, many Duke basketball fans have already started looking ahead to next season.
Considering the players in the 2014 freshman class who will be coming to Duke, itโs easy to get excited about the possibilities for next year.
The Blue Devils will have a dynamic class that fills needs at every position on the court and hopefully addresses many of the issues this yearโs team appears to be having.
Hereโs an update on the Blue Devilsโ four commits for next season.
Grayson Allen
1 of 4
You might have seen Grayson Allen over the past few weeks on a few YouTube videos that have gone viral, featuring the 6โ4โ guard making some spectacular dunks.
Allenโs high-flying jams were a subject of discussion at the City of Palms tournament and dunk contest in Myrtle Beach at the end of December, and heโs used that same athleticism to lead his Providence High School team to a 14-3 record.
According to Adam Rowe of 247Sports, Allen, along with Dukeโs other three commits, was recently nominated as a 2014 McDonaldโs All American.
If he continues to make spectacular plays at the rim and have his way with the opposition, Allen could quickly became a household name.
Justise Winslow

Justise Winslow was the latest recruit to commit to Duke for the class of 2014, but heโs certainly not any type of afterthought.
The 6โ6โ, 218-pound forward from Houston, Texas, is ranked by ESPN as a 5-star recruit and the No. 14 overall prospect in the class of 2014.
Winslow recently had the opportunity to shine on a big stage as his St. Johnโs team took on Euless Trinity, which features fellow 5-star recruit Myles Turner. Though Turner is a 7-footer and one of the top-ranked centers in his class, Winslow wasnโt afraid to attack him in the paint.
Winslow finished with 34 points and 15 rebounds, leading his team to a 51-49 overtime win over Turnerโs Euless Trinity squad.
Tyus Jones
3 of 4
For a 6โ1โ point guard, Tyus Jones recently showed he has no fear of attacking the rim and posterizing helpless defenders with incredible dunks.
If you saw Jonesโ dunk on January 4 against Blue Valley Northwest in the Timberwolves Shootout at Target Center, you know what Iโm talking about.
He appears to have his Apple Valley High School team positioned as the favorite to win its second consecutive Minnesota state championship, and Duke fans are already excited about the possibility of what Jones will do for next seasonโs team.
The idea of him being a distributor and floor general with playmakers like Allen, Winslow and Jahlil Okafor around him should be fun to watch.
Jahlil Okafor
4 of 4
Okafor continues to dominate the high school ranks and is still holding on to the No. 1 ranking in the class of 2014 in the ESPN100 rankings.
Okaforโs incredible size and skills are such a rare find for big men in todayโs game, and many Duke fans wish he could come to Durham immediately and help this yearโs squad which has been exposed in the frontcourt due to a lack of size.
With many high school teams playing in holiday tournaments around the country in recent weeks, Okafor took his talents to Oregon as his Whitney Young team competed in the Les Schwab Invitational.
In four games, Okafor showed why heโs a future NBA lottery pick, averaging 31 points and 12.5 rebounds while showing an impressive array of offensive moves.
