First Trailer Released for 'Legends' House'
Hot on the heels of the WWE's announcement of the launch date for its official network, the first trailer for the channel's flagship reality show Legends' House has emerged.
Legends' House stars an assortment of former wrestling legends, including Gene Okerlund, Roddy Piper and Jimmy Hart, forced to live together in a vast, sprawling mansion in a Real World-type of situation.
Here's the trailer:
WrestlingInc notes that the show, which was filmed in Palm Springs in January 2012, will run for 10 episodes. Shortly after production commenced, gossip site TMZ released an early clip of the aging wrestlers attempting to participate in a Zumba dance class.
After the network faced delays in 2012 and 2013, reports (PWI via WrestlingInc) emerged that WWE was shopping Legends' House to various networks in the U.S., with Syfy and Bravo being the main names thrown around.
This didn't exactly pan out, which probably isn't much a surprise.

Legends' House simply doesn't have the mainstream appeal of something like Total Divas, a wrestling reality show which did manage to get picked up by E!.
A network may be interested in broadcasting a show about beautiful young women and their romantic problems, which is essentially what Total Divas is, but wacky and obscure old guys struggling to get along? It was a tough sell from the beginning.
But can the show be a success on the WWE Network?

Well, judging by the trailer, I'm personally leaning toward no. Granted, the teaser has a few amusing moments (check out Piper's tartan-covered bedroom), but overall it doesn't look terribly appealing or like something that can sustain an audience for 10 weeks.
The clip of the guys attempting to be male strippers for the night, in particular, looks woeful.
The show may also be lacking any major stars. No disrespect to Howard Finkel or Tony Atlas, both of whom are very talented, but are people really going to be tuning in to see them?
It's genuinely too bad Ric Flair was under contract to TNA when Legends House was being made and therefore not available to be a cast member. If anyone could have given this show a shot of much-needed energy and made it must-see television, it was probably "The Nature Boy."
