Trailer Released for WWE Studios' Scooby-Doo Movie
A trailer has emerged for Scooby-Doo: WrestleMania Mystery, the upcoming animated comedy film from WWE Studios and Warner Bros.
TV Guide revealed the trailer, along with the official DVD cover, over at its official site earlier today. TV Guide also offered a brief synopsis of the plot:
"A mysterious ghostly bear is on the rampage, wreaking havoc on WrestleMania and attempting to steal the championship gold belt. Before you can say, "ruh-roh," Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma join forces with the lords of the wrestling ring to sort out the bear facts.

They go on to note that Triple H, John Cena, The Miz, A.J. Lee Sin Cara, Brodus Clay, Kane and WWE owner Vince McMahon will guest star as themselves in the movie. Cena and McMahon can both be heard in the trailer.
The site also reports that Scooby-Doo: WrestleMania Mystery is currently scheduled to be released on DVD on March 25, coinciding with the WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view (of course).
The trailer itself looks perfectly fine, if a little cheesy (but, then, it is Scooby-Doo). It looks like the type of movie the company's younger fans would rush out to buy, or, rather, pester their parents to go out and buy for them.
(Oh, and if this movie ends with anything but Vince McMahon being unmasked by the Scooby Gang as the culprit and screaming maniacally about how he would have gotten away with it if not for those "meddling kids," I will be very disappointed indeed.)
Ever since announcing the WWE/Scooby Doo movie in August 2012, the company's film division has continued to dabble in the world of animation.
As noted by the promotion's official site earlier this year, a Flinstones/WWE Direct-to-DVD collaboration is also in development, with a planned 2015 release date.
In November, Variety also reported that the company is working on an animated show, Camp WWE, with the same production team behind The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
Although unlike The Scooby Doo! or Flintstones projects, this project will be a web series aimed mainly at adults.
