WWE Survivor Series 2013: Power Ranking Matches in Order of Potential Excitement
Survivor Series, the next-to-last WWE pay-per-view of the year, is Sunday. The main event doesn't exactly have me antsy with anticipation, but at least the culmination of the Big Show-Randy Orton angle could be coming to an end.
It seems unlikely that the Big Show would win the WWE title right now, but I suppose crazier things have happened. Has anyone seen Kane in that suit looking like a battered agent from The Matrix?
Kane's involvement with The Authority was a cool twist and could ultimately have some effect on the WWE title match Sunday.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Having Randy Orton involved in the WWE title picture is what's best for business, but a fresh opponent would make things a little more interesting. As it is, the WWE title match isn't at the top of the list in regard to potential in-ring excitement.
The match most likely to have WWE fans talking about the in-ring action come Monday morning is the only traditional Survivor Series scrap on the card. It is easy to forget (especially if you weren't born yet) that when the pay-per-view series began in 1987, all of the matches on the card were elimination bouts.
Now there's only one rather obligatorily version included of what the pay-per-view was founded on. Luckily, it should be amazing.
1. Traditional Survivor Series Match
The team that features Tag Team champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust, The Usos and Rey Mysterio will take on The Shield and The Real Americans. There is so much in-ring talent in this match, it's amazing. If you look at the three members of The Shield, Antonio Cesaro and Cody Rhodes, you could be looking at the stars who will make up a large portion of the WWE's top tier of talent in the near future.
If you don't see any other match from the card, make sure you watch this one.
2. The Two Biggest Faces Battle the Company's Biggest Heel Faction
The Shield seem set to disband in the coming weeks. The hints have been present throughout the trio's promos over the last month. While their collective reign of terror may be coming to an end, The Wyatt Family is just getting started with theirs.
Thanks to Bray Wyatt's creepy mic work and a chilling ring entrance, no group is better put over as heels. The Wyatts taking on the two most beloved Superstars in the WWE in Daniel Bryan and CM Punk is a great match.
Should Punk and Bryan be involved in the title picture in some way? Perhaps, but this match still has great potential. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are both huge men. They will have the ability to shine in the ring against the smaller Bryan and Punk.
Vice versa, Bryan and Punk can be at their high-flying best. The result should leave the Wyatts more entrenched in their roles as heels while Bryan and Punk make a pit stop before heading for bigger and better things.
3. The World Heavyweight Title is Important Again
Thanks to John Cena, the World Heavyweight title matters more than it has in years. People can boo him all they want, but there is a measure of importance surrounding any feud he's in.
Alberto Del Rio is a solid but bland performer. Yet his matches with Cena have been entertaining. Why is that? Because Cena tells a story in the ring as well as any performer in the history of the business, he can wrestle at any pace and, on the mic, he is perhaps one of the most underrated performer you'll find.
This match will be entertaining. Cena sucks...you in every time.
4. Can We Please See Big Show vs. Triple H?
Big Show vs. Randy Orton has never made much sense. A much more interesting feud would be Triple H taking on the Big Show. Perhaps we'll see that at the Royal Rumble, or even at WrestleMania.
This match will be fought at a snail's pace to accommodate Show, but the real payoff won't come until the match is over.
Will the WWE give us something compelling to look forward to with the Michael Strahan-hosted edition of Monday Night Raw Nov. 25? I hope so.
5. Why Are We About to Watch Big E Langston vs. Curtis Axel Again?
There is no way the Intercontinental title will be taken away from Big E this quickly. Axel's time in the spotlight was short-lived. He's terrible on the mic and lacks charisma. Unfortunately, that supersedes his excellent in-ring work.
Expect Big E to retain with another impressive showing of strength.
6. The Miz and Kofi Kingston are Lost
Two of the WWE's better Superstars are roaming aimlessly about the WWE universe. Kofi needs a reboot in the worst way, and The Miz just needs to be plugged into something meaningful. For now, the two men will continue an on-again, off-again feud that has seemingly rekindled for no good reason.
There's a decent chance the in-ring action will be solid, but quite honestly, it's hard to even care.
7. 757 Divas Will Be in One Match...at the Same Time
OK, maybe it won't be 757, but 14 is still a lot. Is it bad that the only reason I'm even remotely interested is because I'm hoping Naomi wears that side-less ring attire she's been sporting lately? Have mercy.
The Funkadactyls, Bellas, JoJo (who is also quite beautiful), Natalya and Eva Marie will take on Divas champion AJ Lee (another one who is easy on the eyes), Tamina, Aksana, Kaitlyn (when did she turn heel), Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox and Summer Rae.
While Natalya, Tamina, AJ, Kaitlyn and Brie Bella are better than average in the ring, there will be far too much happening—with too many below-average performers—for this to be a good match.
