What to Expect from the Oct. 21 Edition of Raw

Aaron BowerOct 21, 2013

It's the final Raw before the big Hell in a Cell pay-per-view this weekend, and tonight the show heads to Memphis, Tenn. as the final previews and promos for the show take place.

After a disastrous week on TV last week for Triple H, could he stage a fierce backlash against a number of parties? Expect the Rhodes Brothers to be in Triple H's firing line, and of course the Big Show after his intervention in last week's main event of Raw.

The card for Hell in a Cell is looking extremely credible, not least with the involvement of Shawn Michaels in the WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. Expect more building towards that match, and plenty more exciting action on Monday's Raw.

Reaction from the Boss

Last weeks Raw ended in real blockbuster style. It was one of the best endings to a TV taping in recent memory, as the Big Show made his way through the crowd and knocked The Shield out.

That prompted the Rhodes Brothers to pick up the tag team titles, which lead to a furious Triple H closing the show in the ring.

The Triple H and Big Show storyline is now starting to take an interesting twist, and PWTorch.com is reporting that the COO of the company will hit back on tonight's show:

"

Also advertised is Triple H vowing to strip Big Show of his "Big Show" moniker after Show was "fired" two weeks ago and cost The Shield the Tag Titles last week. Hunter has also vowed to "deal with" new WWE tag champions the Rhodes Bros. following their title victory.

"

As a heel, Triple H is superb with his promo work and reactions, and expect to see more fireworks from him on Monday night as things escalate towards Hell in a Cell.

He's Back..

Love him or hate him, John Cena is back.

And the chances are he will probably return by winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Alberto Del Rio on Sunday night.

Expect to see some more promo work from the two men on Monday night, including more aggression from the champion, after he put announcer Josh Matthews in his patented submission maneuver on SmackDown last week.

With tension building ahead of the match, Cena will no doubt be in promo action to hype up his return.

More Punk Promos, Please

Last week was a brilliant one for CM Punk.

On SmackDown, Punk picked up a victory over Big E Langston, before being saved by Langston from an attack by Paul Heyman and his two "guys", Curtis Axel and Ryback.

And on Raw, Punk was able to beat Axel which enabled him to pick the stipulation for his match with Ryback at Hell in a Cell. Punk pulled off a masterstroke, putting himself in a handicap match with Ryback and Heyman, inside the cell.

What this hopefully means is that we're now beginning to see the end of the Punk-Heyman rivalry. Whilst it's been excellent in large parts, it is starting to wear a little thin now, and in truth, Punk should be looking higher up the card for his true place on the roster.

What both men do well though, is cut some brilliant promos on each other. We all know the skill of Punk on the mic, and he and Heyman in opposite corners does make for some compelling TV.

Expect to see more building towards an intriguing match at Hell in a Cell on Raw.

A Reborn Tag Division?

Last Monday's edition of Raw hopefully laid the platform for the rebirth of the tag team division.

Whilst Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were good champions, they are involved in too many other storyline plots of late to be giving the tag division the push it deserves.

With the Rhodes Brothers now in possession of the straps, things may now change.

The Shield can now concentrate on their position as Triple H's henchmen, leaving another heel tag team such as The Real Americans to come forward and be credible challengers for Cody and Goldust.

Perhaps the final Raw before the pay-per-view will see a new challenger arise, setting up a match at Hell in a Cell.

What Are HBK's Intentions?

What makes the main event at Hell in a Cell so intriguing is that nobody is quite sure which way the referee is going to swing.

The odds of Shawn Michaels going straight down the middle and calling it fair seem incredibly unlikely. There would be little point in putting him in the match if that was the case.

The way the buildup has been going, it looks like HBK still has a score to settle with Randy Orton. Orton came perilously close to tasting a "Sweet Chin Music" from Michaels at the beginning of last week's Raw, but there could be another twist this week.

Expect to see a segment with Bryan and HBK, in order to put some doubt in the minds of the viewers as to which way Michaels will go at the pay-per-view.

Whichever way it is, it will play a part in a big show before the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
