5 WWE Superstars That Could Join Daniel Bryan in His Fight Against Triple H
Daniel Bryan, the man who once found himself on a losing streak in the first season of WWE NXT, finds himself three years on as the top underdog-babyface in the company's biggest and most intriguing program in months.
While superstars such as Cody Rhodes will no doubt be on side upon returning to the company, wrestlers that have otherwise come to Bryan's aid such as The Usos, Zack Ryder and the Primetime Players, will prove no competition for The Shield, Randy Orton and Triple H.
The following are superstars that will likely join Bryan in his fight against the COO and the "face" of WWE between now and WrestleMania 30.
Rey Mysterio
1 of 5Recent reports have suggested that Rey Mysterio's WWE return date is imminent. According to the Pwmania.com article, The "Master of the 619" is scheduled to return to house show action this weekend in Hidalgo, TX.
Mysterio may not be placed into the company's top program immediately, but come November he could play an important part on the babyface team at Survivor Series, especially if Bryan is taking on Randy Orton or Triple H in one-on-one action at the event.
As one of the most popular WWE superstars of the last decade, the smallest World Heavyweight Champion in history would be a solid addition to the rebellion against the dictatorship of Triple H.
The Undertaker
2 of 5Having last been seen on a post-WrestleMania episode of SmackDown, The Undertaker would be a logical name to throw into the mix at Survivor Series or later, especially when considering it was Hunter's new henchmen, The Shield, that took him out of action.
At one point, it appeared likely that "The Deadman", alongside his brother Kane, were going to face The Shield at SummerSlam. While this was a dream match that never came to fruition, The Undertaker could settle his business with Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns whilst aiding Daniel Bryan and company in their battle with the McMahon/Helmsley regime.
Although it would be unrealistic, at this stage in 'Taker's career, to expect him to be a full-time fixture in the feud, his one-off involvement would make for an incredible marquee match.
Chris Jericho
3 of 5"Y2J" Chris Jericho's band Fozzy finished touring in late October, and Jericho has recently expressed an interest in performing for WWE when he does not have other commitments, such as band tours or television contracts.
While Jericho may not be set to return to the company in the near future, his long history with Triple H makes him an interesting and relevant addition to a group of babyfaces that will ultimately look to overthrow "The King of Kings" from the position of power that he is perceived to misuse.
While Jericho would not likely be a central figure in the storyline, he would add a legitimacy and venerability that superstars like The Usos and the Primetime Players do not, at this stage in their careers, possess.
CM Punk
4 of 5Although CM Punk is still currently embroiled in his fast-fading feud with Paul Heyman, expect the "Straight Edge Savior" to join the battle against Triple H's authority sooner rather than later.
Recent reports have said that Punk may be carrying a number of injuries, hence why he has been kept out of full length matches at live events.
Nonetheless, it almost seems now that his feud with Heyman has developed into a hold-over storyline, allowing a month or two longer to pass before he can join Bryan against the dictatorial Triple H, so as to not give the story a sense of overkill this early on in its development.
John Cena
5 of 5Who else but the 11-time WWE Champion John Cena?
Although he likely will not be returning as soon as Survivor Series, it already seems as if the stage is set for "The Champ" to save the day when he is ready.
A fan of the business, the company and Daniel Bryan will be hoping that Cena returns as "The Goat's" equal, rather than usurp him in resuming his age-old position as the face of the company.
Ultimately, while it is encouraging that WWE producers have taken the step in having the lockerroom finally stand up, expect bigger names such as Cena, 'Taker and CM Punk to be thrown into the mix as the story plays out.
Can anybody honestly see saviours Zack Ryder or Justin Gabriel being a part of a serious pay-per-view contest against Triple H's corporate regime?
