Little League World Series Scores 2013: Breaking Down Day 3's Early Games
Things are heating up in Williamsport, Pa., and Day 3 of the Little League World Series started with a pair of teams making statements in elimination games.
It's a time for youngsters to show the world what they can do.
The kids are enjoying the experience of playing baseball on national television. Unfortunately, not every team can win, so it's important for the kids to be ready from the first pitch.

Report: MLB Vet Unretires After 1 Day
There's still a lot of baseball to be played. Day 3 featured elimination games early, so everything was on the line Saturday.
Here are the results of the early games of Day 3.
Caribbean Shuts Out Australia
The first game of the day was tight in the beginning, but the stronger team pulled through to stay alive. Caribbean won 4-0, with the box score courtesy of GameChanger.io.
Neither team had scored entering the bottom of the fourth, and it looked like the game was going to stay tied heading into the fifth after Australia retired the first two batters of the inning.
Things changed when Robert Addarich got a rally going with a single. The next hitter sent Addarich to third with a single. Israel Velazquez gave his team the lead with a run-scoring double, and Puerto Rico added two more runs in the inning.
The Caribbean team added an insurance run in the fifth, but the game was never in doubt after the fourth.
Pitcher Tommylee Sierra was on top of his game Saturday. He went 5.2 innings and allowed only five hits and one walk. He was dominant as he struck out 10 batters, including the last two batters he faced. It's unfortunate he reached the pitch limit with one batter remaining, but he gave his team everything he had.
Puerto Rico will be a tough out if it can get timely hitting like it did in the fourth inning. Getting a rally started with two outs is tough, but the team continued to get hits.
Strong pitching kept the team in the game early, and the team needs its other pitchers to duplicate Sierra's performance.
Southeast Takes Care of Southwest
Like the first game of the day, this game was scoreless entering the fourth inning. But once the Southeast team started scoring, it was tough to stop.
The team from Nashville, Tenn. scored three times in both the fourth and fifth inning. With a 6-0 score entering the bottom of the fifth, the game was under control. A dropped third strike with two outs in the bottom of the fifth allowed Southwest to get on the board.
Ben Pickman pitched five outstanding innings and allowed only one run on three hits and two walks. Southwest did not record a hit until the fourth inning. He struck out 10 batters to give his team enough to advance.
Trae McLemore ended any chance Southwest had of coming back by clubbing a grand slam with two outs in the top of the sixth inning.
McLemore was the star of the game. He went 2-for-3 with a walk and knocked in six runs. He also pitched the final inning and struck out two batters.
The team from Corpus Christi was held to four hits, but Jared Cruz gave the team something to cheer about with a home run in the bottom of the sixth.
In the end, Southeast won 10-2, with the box score courtesy of GameChanger.io.
