PGA Championship Leaderboard 2013: Dissecting Day 2 Results
Action is starting to heat up at the 2013 PGA Championship as favorable course conditions have led to several players putting up strong scores at Oak Hill Country Club.
Day 1 co-leader Adam Scott once again looked like a strong contender to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday but several other contenders emerged, including Jason and 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose.
Here's a glimpse at how the leaderboard looks heading into Saturday.

Report: MLB Vet Unretires After 1 Day
Day 2 was full of interesting storylines. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson attempted to get back on track after difficult first rounds while Dufner put together a historic round for the New York course.
Here's a closer look at all the prominent action that went down on Friday.
Jason Dufner Scores Historic 63
Jason Dufner easily had the best day of any player on the course. His score of 63 is tied for the best round ever shot at a major and the lowest score registered at Oak Hill, per Bleacher Report:
The round was this close to being even more historic. His putt to score a 62—and become the sole record-holder—just missed.
Dufner was incredibly consistent throughout the round. He scored this eagle on No. 2 and never looked back.
He racked up five birdies the rest of the way with no bogeys. After scoring five birdies and three bogeys on Day 1, he really put things together on Friday. He now sits atop the leaderboard with an excellent opportunity to remain in contention throughout the weekend.
Lefty and Tiger Struggle to Make Moves
Things are always a bit more interesting when either Tiger or Lefty are in contention, but neither were able to make a move on Friday.
As K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune noted, there were plenty of players collecting birdies, but Lefty and Tiger weren't one of them:
Mickelson mounted a remarkable comeback to win the British Open earlier this year. After his sub-par Round 2 performance, he'll be hard-pressed to repeat the feat.
After shooting two doubles and a bogey on Thursday, Lefty cut his bogey count to two on Friday. But it didn't do much to improve his score. He didn't tally a single birdie and once again shot 71.
Woods didn't fare much better than Mickelson on the tournament's second day. He ran into trouble early on with a bogey on No. 2 and never quite got things rolling. He was able to birdie Nos. 5 and 6 back-to-back, but picked up a bogey on No. 11.
He alternated birdies on bogeys on holes 15-18 to draw his score to even par. As Jason Sobel of Golf Channel pointed out, his par on No. 14 summed up his day best.
Both stars will make the cut, but neither appears to have a magical run up their sleeve this weekend.
Adam Scott and Jim Furyk Remain in Contention
Adam Scott and Jim Furyk headlined Day 1 by tying for the lead at 65.
They weren't able to match those scores on Day 2 but they remained in the hunt by shooting matching 68's on Friday.
Scott, the 2013 Masters Champion, was able to score five birdies throughout the day but was held back with three bogeys that brought his score to just two-under on the day.
Furyk had a much nondescript round in comparison as he did just enough to survive the day. He scored three birdies with one bogey on No. 17.
Neither stood out, but both still remain serious threats if they can recapture their Day 1 form.
