The major storylines are apparent, but there is also the possibility that a relative unknown will burst onto the scene. As difficult as Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y., can be, there is a chance that the course itself could become the biggest story.

The Course
Oak Hill is a par-70, 7,163-yard course that is known for its difficulty. The course was built in 1901 and has played host to every major American golf tournament.
Many of the holes on the course carry a high difficulty rating, but the 460-yard, par-four first hole and the 497-yard finishing hole jump out as perhaps the most challenging.
Because the large field requires the use of split tees in the first two rounds, the impact of these holes will vary early. However, with the field trimmed down on Saturday and Sunday, expect to see tensions high at the beginning and end of contenders' rounds.
Here's a link to a tour of the entire course from PGA.com.
The Favorites
Tiger Woods
Woods went into video game mode on the field in Akron, Ohio, at the 2013 Bridgestone Invitational. Because of that performance and his play throughout the season, he is the clear favorite to win the 2013 PGA Championship.
He is listed as a 7-2 favorite to win the tournament, per Bovada.
Woods hasn’t won a major since 2008, but he's more than earned his status as favorite. Four wins on Tour has him sitting comfortably as the No. 1 player in the world.

Phil Mickelson
With odds listed at 15-1, Mickelson is on everyone's short list of probable champions. Lefty has already won the Open Championship this year, and a win at Oak Hill would make this perhaps the best season of his career.
He has already moved to the No. 2 spot in golf’s world rankings behind Woods.
He's won twice on tour this year, and he's had six top-three finishes. It would be huge if Mickelson could become the first man to win two majors in the same year since Padraig Harrington accomplished the feat in 2008.
Rose and Scott have the same opportunity, but neither is playing as well as Mickelson is heading into the tournament. Lefty is already an all-time great, but winning in Rochester would just be the cherry on the proverbial sundae.
The Sleeper
Keegan Bradley is the most underestimated player, with longer than 20-1 odds.
He's listed at 35-1 to win the tournament, but that seems to disregard his solid second-place showing at the Bridgestone. In addition to that, Bradley is a former PGA Championship winner with five top-four finishes this season.
Late July and early August has proven to be a good time for him.
In 2011, Bradley finished 15th at the Bridgestone and won the PGA Championship. In 2012, he won the Bridgestone and finished third at the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island. The 27-year-old from Vermont will be as dangerous as anyone this week.
Prediction
It would be great to see Tiger or Phil win, but there is something about Bradley at this part of the golf season. He's proven he'll be a factor no matter where the PGA Championship is held, and that speaks to his level of comfort in the third quarter of the year.
He's my pick to capture his second PGA Championship.
