Carlos Tevez Will Hit His Peak at Juventus

Dan ColasimoneJun 1, 2018

All the ingredients are in place for Carlos Tevez to hit the peak form of his career at new club Juventus.

At 29, the "Apache" is around the age where many footballers produce their best displays on a consistent basis. He has a vast amount of experience under his belt but has not yet begun to show signs of a dip in pace or stamina.

Juve fans will be optimistic that, as he nears his 30s, the confrontational side of Tevez's personality is dimmed, while his trademark on-field fighting qualities will remain.

If anyone can get the very best out of the temperamental Argentine, it is Bianconeri manager Antonio Conte.

The former midfielder rules with a firm hand, but will not be lured into chest-beating battles of ego with his players in the same way Roberto Mancini, Tevez's manager at Manchester City, was.

Conte treats his players with respect and expects the same in return, and that attitude should suit Tevez to a tee (no golf pun intended).

The diminutive forward has already told the press he is training as hard as he has since the dawn of his career, as reported by Cronan Yu of goal.com.

Goal reported:

"

“I’m training very intensely, and it’s normal to be a bit tired," the Argentine attacker told reporters on Saturday. "I haven’t worked this hard since I was at Boca Juniors!"

Tevez also expressed his gratitude to Conte for recently telling journalists that the former Manchester United striker is very different to the person portrayed by sections of the media.

“I’m a good person and I think that in the long run time will tell exactly what someone’s really like," he reasoned.

“Conte also places great importance on tactics and is very well-prepared. I’m looking to pay careful attention to the systems used and apply what Conte asks of me on the field of play."

"

Tevez has always played his finest football when he feels he is a crucial part of the team unit.

He has rarely produced his dazzling best when playing for the Argentine national team, where a certain Lionel Messi gets top billing and attacking options abound.

The Turin giants climbed back to the top of Italian football in no small part thanks to their robust team ethic and emphasis on the collective.

It is in this sort of environment that "Carlitos" should thrive, especially if he feels he has been recruited to become a vital cog in the Juve machine.

He is a man who loves to be loved, and when explaining his decision to join the Italian champions over a host of suitors, Tevez revealingly said: "Juve were the club that wanted me most."

With Conte and his squad aiming to repeat their domestic success and reclaim their status as a European superpower, they will need Tevez at his most brilliant.

The Argentine, who has signed on to the project for three years in what will likely be his final stint in European football, will know and appreciate this.

Juve fans will be quietly confident that despite all he has achieved in his career to date, the best is still to come.
