Sri Lanka vs. South Africa: Scorecard and Innings Recaps for 1st T20
Twenty20 is an odd game. When a team looks down and out, it can still win.
That's exactly what happened to South Africa when they edged a 12-run win over Sri Lanka in the first T20 in Colombo on Friday. Despite posting a low total after batting first, South Africa managed to sneak out a win, giving their fans something to cheer about after the horrific ODI series.

3. Francois du Plessis b Senanayake 8 (11)

The Proteas openers collapsed in a heap. Spinner Sachithra Senanayake was the destroyer in-chief for the Lankans with his three wickets for just 14 runs as he ripped through the top order.
JP Duminy came to South Africa's rescue, though, adding 51 off 52 to lift he Proteas somewhat. AB de Villiers managed 15, and David Miller played his part with 25 off 24. But at the end of their innings, 115 looked a rather low total.
Sri Lanka, though, had plans to outdo South Africa in batting collapses.
Sri Lanka 103-9 in 20 overs
1. Kushal Janith Perera c Wiese b Morkel 11 (14)
2. Tillakaratne Dilshan c de Villiers b Duminy 9 (19)
3. Dinesh Chandimal c de Kock b Tsotsobe 8 (9)

9. Sachithra Senanayake c De Kock b Parnell 0 (4)
10. Lasith Malinga c Du Plessis b Parnell 0 (2)
11. Ajantha Mendis NOT OUT 0 (0)
Morne Morkel started off looking like his usual inconsistent self, with wides and no balls all over the place. But the lanky seamer would soon get the breakthrough that triggered a mini-collapse. With Kushal Perera out, Sri Lanka soon faltered to 72-5, with Duminy being particularly impressive.
Kumar Sangakkara managed the only score of significance with his 59 off 53, which included a walking controversy. Sangakkara appeared to nick the ball through to the keeper and, despite appeals from the South Africans, was given not out. Sangakkara didn't walk, and he went on to make a rather impressive score.
It didn't help, though. No other player managed more than five runs, and Sri Lanka crashed to defeat. Wayne Parnell was impressive at the death, finishing the penultimate over with a wicket-maiden.
South Africa shouldn't be overly happy with that performance, though. They got off slightly lucky. Two more games remain. Can the Proteas manage a series win?
