Football Transfer Rumours: 6 Brazilian Stars Still Likely to Move
The summer transfer window continues to see deals struck for the world's biggest talents by some of Europe's biggest clubs.
Already we have seen Neymar finalise his long anticipated move to La Liga giants Barcelona and Tottenham swoop for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.
Manchester City also made their usual big money buys, forking out a cool £30 million for Shakhtar Donetsk's Fernandinho.
Shakhtar have also got into the action by completing the transfers of Brazilian trio Fred, Fernando and Wellington Nem from the Brasileirao.
But this is unlikely to be the final word on Brazilians switching clubs this summer, click on the slideshow below to see six more candidates for a move.
Hernanes
1 of 6Hernanes is fast becoming one of Serie A's hottest properties, coming off an excellent season with Lazio and attracting interest from around Europe.
PSG are the forerunners for the Brazilian's signature after La Gazetta dello Sport (H/T Football Italia) claimed that the French club were extremely interested in the 28-year-old.
A stumbling block, however, could be the Biancocelesti's €35 million asking price for the Brazilian star, who recently won the Confederations Cup with the Selecao.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito recently rubbished reports that the club were listening to offers for the midfielder, claiming that he was "not for sale."
However, if PSG were to stump up the asking price, that stance could change quickly.
Julio Cesar
2 of 6Julio Cesar is another Brazilian reported to be angling for a move away from his current employers, as QPR have plummeted into the Championship after being relegated from the Premier League.
QPR cannot afford the goalkeeper's wages and are willing to let him go according to boss Harry Redknapp, who admitted that the Selecao star was too good to play in the lower leagues.
While interest has taken a while to heat up for the keeper, Arsenal are now thought to be the closest to his signature as they look for a new No. 1.
The Daily Mail reports that Cesar would cost the Gunners in the region of £2 million and close to £70,000 in wages.
With little competition from elsewhere, it is expected that Arsene Wenger will line up with the former Inter star in goal next season.
Leandro Damiao
3 of 6Leandro Damiao once looked destined to move to Premier League side Tottenham after Andre Villas-Boas courted the Brazilian over the past few transfer windows.
But a move has failed to materialise and with Tottenham seemingly looking at alternatives, rival clubs are looking to snap up the Internacional hitman.
Southampton are the unlikely suitors for Damiao's services but they face fierce competition from Napoli, who are looking to replace Edinson Cavani, with the Uruguayan set for a move to PSG according to Sky Sports.
But there has been a late twist in the tale as Internacional boss Dunga has expressed his desire to keep the striker to Zero Hora (via Sky Sports) and raised his price tag to €25 million, putting off many a club.
With very few clubs willing to pay such an exorbitant price, it seems Damiao will be staying in Brazil for now.
Bernard
4 of 6Atletico Mineiro playmaker Bernard has been the subject of intense interest from Tottenham in the early stages of the transfer window.
However, that has since cooled with the signing of Paulinho as Andre Villas-Boas looks to shore up his squad elsewhere.
This has opened the door for FC Porto who have connections with BMG, who part-owns the Brazilian, paving the way for a move to Portugal.
Bernard's agent revealed that Shakhtar Donetsk have also been put off by Atletico's asking price of €25 million for the player.
"The agreement (with BMG) is a factor, so Porto are the most likely destination for Bernard," Adriano Spadoto told O Jogo (via Sky Sports).
"I believe that Bernard will leave Atletico Mineiro after the Copa Libertadores and the official announcement will be made by Atletico president Alexandre Kalil."
Kaka
5 of 6Kaka is another Brazilian seemingly surplus to requirements at Real Madrid after Los Blancos took the No. 8 shirt away from the former AC Milan star.
The number is reportedly reserved for the expected arrival of Real Sociedad star Asier Illarramendi, according to Marca, which seems to signal the end of Kaka's time at the San Bernabeu.
A move back to Brazil was mooted with former club Sao Paulo expressing an interest according to quotes given to Globo Esporte (via Sky Sports), but a move looks unlikely after the club felt unable to finance a move for the Brazilian.
Kaka is suggested to be awaiting offers from Europe and the MLS according to Sky Sports, with a move back to his homeland unlikely to happen.
What is certain however, is that Kaka has no future in Carlo Ancelotti's new-look Real Madrid side.
Thiago Silva
6 of 6Thiago Silva to Barcelona is already shaping up to be one of the longest running transfer sagas this summer.
The Brazilian has reportedly told Marca that he wants to leave PSG to join his compatriots Dani Alves and Neymar in the Catalan capital.
However, it would take an enormous bid to prise the Selecao star away from Paris, as PSG have stated that their captain is not for sale at any price according to Goal.com.
But with the French club pursuing the services of Chelsea's own Brazilian defender, David Luiz according to the Daily Mail they may already be preparing for Silva's departure.
The saga looks set to drag on throughout the summer before a conclusion is reached.
