Juventus vs. Bayern Munich: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview
Bayern Munich seemingly erased any doubts about their Champions League credentials with a 2-0 win over Juventus in the first leg of their quarterfinal.
Now, playing away in Italy for the second leg, the Bavarians will likely try and prove just how strong they are with a dominant performance once more.
Juventus were simply outplayed in the opening leg and will likely adopt a much more attacking style in this second leg. They've shown throughout the year that they can be very tough to break down defensively and can create plenty of attacking chances, and they'll definitely need to bring both of those in this match if they're going to erase the two-goal deficit.

Key Player to Watch: Andrea Pirlo, Juventus
Andrea Pirlo was rendered useless in the first leg by Bayern Munich's midfield and attack (particularly Mario Mandzukic, who dropped back superbly on the midfielder), and Juve suffered as a result.
The Old Lady will be looking for a much stronger performance in this one from the veteran, who has some big question marks around him following the first leg—the least of which being whether he still possess the skill to mix it in the top flight.
Arturo Vidal is suspended from this one, which will likely bring Paul Pogba into the midfield alongside Pirlo. And whilst the French sensation has shown himself to be somewhat reckless at times this year, he is the type of player who could well open up the midfield for Juve on the night.
And that will feed right into the hands of an experienced Pirlo.
The veteran midfielder has a supreme passing game and superb vision, which will be needed against a very strong Bayern defensive line.
He'll need to have a career game here, but Pirlo is one man capable of turning this tie on it's head and perhaps even helping Juventus cause a stunning upset—provided he can find space in the middle.
If not, then this one should be pretty straightforward for Bayern again.
Biggest Storyline to Follow: Can Bayern's Away Form Continue?
It might not seem like a big deal, but one of Bayern Munich's biggest strengths this year has been their ability to chalk up big wins away from home.
They've shown in both the German and European competitions that they are incredibly tough to break down away from home, and will likely bring that again in this one—something which Juve will no doubt be fully aware of given Bayern's record this year.
Other than a shock defeat to BATE Borisov (which was their first loss of the year), Bayern have not been beaten on the road in the Champions League.
In the Bundesliga, they are undefeated away from home—winning 13 of their 14 games, scoring 31 goals whilst conceding just two against.
As tough as Turin might be for many sides in world football, Bayern Munich are unlikely to be phased by the journey and should churn out a very impressive performance as a result, which may be too much for the home side to handle in this one.
How the Bavarians go playing away from home will determine the outcome of this match and, indeed, the Champions League fate for both of these teams.
Top Quote from the Buildup
Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes, via Yahoo Sports:
"We’ll take exactly the same approach as last Tuesday and obviously, we’ll try and win in Turin. We’ll stay true to our principles, and we understand the job we have to do. They’re one of the very top teams, they’ll try and achieve the impossible. I’m expecting a fantastic atmosphere. We should enjoy playing there. It’ll be a motivating factor for both teams...
"
Three Stats to Consider
- Juventus have lost just two of their past 17 home games in the Champions League and have not been beaten at home in the tournament this year.
- Bayern Munich have only won three of their past 12 away games against Italian sides in the Champions League. However, the last time they played Juventus in Turin, they won 4-1.
- Bayern Munich have had 10 different goalscorers in the Champions League this year, more than any other team (Juventus have had seven).
Prediction
Heading into the first leg, many thought that Juventus would be able to challenge Bayern Munich's midfield dominance and defensive brilliance.
Yet after watching the masterclass that the Bavarians put on, it was clear that this team really is a genuine European threat this year.
Playing in Italy won't be easy—even with Bayern's away form—as Juve's more direct attack will allow the home side to gain better chances in this one.
Expect them to score first here and build the pressure on their opponents as a result, but it's hard to see them running away with this one.
Bayern are just too strong across the back and the middle, and the German team will surely score themselves as Juventus push for a second goal.
And in the end, that will be more than enough for the German champions.
Bayern survived a big scare the last time they entered a knockout-stage second leg with a two-goal lead, and they won't let that happen again in this one.
Regardless of what the Old Lady might throw at them.
Juventus 1, Bayern Munich 1
