Game Two is a Win for the Celtics, but is it a Victory, Too?
A great duel between two UConn players was the main plate of game two.
A ridiculous challenge disputed by two of the League's top sharpshooters.
The fourth quarter was a beautiful display of shooting. Allen drained one, then Gordon put a fade-away up. Then Allen rips the net, Gordon does the same. Allen gets the ball, coming out of an incredible play that would make Red Auerbach proud, and with three ticks to go he gets the game-winning trifecta!
It was a close game, too close.
The Celtics imposed respect from quarter one and people could predict a blowout, but the Bulls showed their horns and got a great comeback with a 32-23 run to lead the game by only 3 points at the halftime mark.
The last two quarters went for the C's, but with a small margin.
Gordon was completely unconscious. He scored 42 points and not on a mere mortal. No, he dropped 42 on Allen's head.
Unfairly or not, Allen got the last laugh with his game-winner and a great performance with 30 points.
Rose was the mere mortal tonight. The Rookie-of-the-Year only got 10 points and seven assists, a poor performance, that is no way to match the brilliance of Rondo's effectiveness with 19 points and 16 assists and 12 rebounds: All-Star quality is what comes to mind!
Comparing benches, the Bulls were far superior, but they got smacked in other stats.
When comparing the team rebound stats you would never have thought that it was such a close game.
The Bulls got 36 boards and the Celtics grabbed 50. It gets bigger when you compare offensive rebounds, the Bulls got a mere eight and the Celtics got an astonishing 21 rebounds!
Free throws are still one of the weak points of these C's, a shadowy 68 percent.
Still, what does this mean for Boston?
This victory was huge for the green team. Now they have the advantage of forcing the series to a game 5, which will be played in Boston—homecourt advantage, thank you!
Nevertheless, this win is not much of a victory. Even with Rose completely out, the C's had to sketch up an amazing play to win the game in the final ticks.
The series are not over that's for sure—don't count on the Bulls being soft.
Pierce said, that he had not expected the Bulls to play so well—overconfident cough, cough...
Even if the Celtics beat the Bulls, they'll only have tough games and it will not be easier against Orlando (assuming that they go through) and let's not talk about the Cavaliers.
For the Bulls this was a loss, but in fact it was a victory (but for Rose).
The Bulls could have played better, true. Still, don't forget that they were able to force the Champions to a buzzer beater, just two seconds away from OT and a possible 2-0 lead.
But now its time to get back to Chicago, chins held high, because the Bulls can expect a full house. Chicago hasn't been in such a playoff debate with such a high seed for a long time and that must motivate the players and the fans.
Buckle up, because we're going to have another electrifying game 3!
