WWE WrestleMania 29: What If the New Age Outlaws Won the World Tag Titles?
It could happen. Well, if we tap our wrestling boots three times and recite the mantra, "There is no tag team as good as the New Age Outlaws."
A little far-fetched, yes. But in reality, what would the WWE have to lose by putting the tag team straps on Billy Gunn and Jesse James? The threat of excitement in the tag team division? The nerve of the company for coming up with something that just may work.
While I may be in the minority in thinking the WWE tag team division could be very good with some additions and tweaking, I am also not blind to the fact that the addition and possible victory by the New Age Outlaws in a tag team title match could help and hurt the company at the same time.

Yes, we are readers and fans would be elated at seeing Jesse James each week spewing his rap and his charisma all over arenas (imagine that). But we also may complain about the WWE bringing out retreads again when the company could be cultivating its own talent.
It's a no-win situation.
Like I said in a story last week, the tag team division is not as bad as it would seem. The current tag team champions, Kane and Daniel Bryan (who were rumored to be splitting up), are two of the best singles wrestlers in the company.
Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow (who broke up and then made up) could be tremendous singles champions, but the WWE has put the two together. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth could revitalize their partnership, and of course the Prime Time Players are a good team that works well together. Brodus Clay and Tensai were awful in singles competition, but they found their calling as a huge tag team.
If the WWE wants to continue with the development of the division, it should build The Shield up within the division and have Randy Orton and Sheamus continue to team together. This would surely add more excitement to the ranks. So would the addition of the New Age Outlaws on a consistent basis.
And having the "old men" of the division actually win the titles will definitely help with viewership, much like The Rock, Chris Jericho and Triple H have helped recently because of injuries, planning, poor performance and the need to bring excitement back to the WWE. This is one move the WWE could make to have veterans help the company grow.
It's a double-edged sword the WWE needs to look at, no matter what the outcome is.
