.) Florida Marlins (5-1)—They swept the Nationals, and came close to sweeping the Mets. However, they have a lot of work to do in a hectic NL East to keep this spot.
.) San Diego Padres (5-2)—They split four games with the Dodgers, but then showed superiority by sweeping the Giants. They have won four games in a row.
.) Seattle Mariners (5-2)—Whoa. The team that was everybody's No. 30 last year starts at No. 5 this year. And this has been without their star player, Ichiro.
.) Chicago Cubs (4-2)—They won both season series of the season by winning two out of three against the "Brew Crew" and the Astros.
.) Detroit Tigers (4-3)—They are a very inconsistent seventh. This team has been off and on. They have scored runs, but then their pitching has blundered. Still a long way to go for the Tigers.
.) Los Angeles Dodgers (4-3)—Started the season by only giving up 14 runs in five games.
.) Toronto Blue Jays (5-2)—Anytime you lead the AL East, you are definitely doing something correct. As of now, the Blue Jays are the front runners in the AL East. Wow.
.) Baltimore Orioles (4-2)—Anytime you are second in the AL East. That means you are doing something correct. As of now, the Orioles are second in the AL East. Wow. Did I mention it's just the second week in the season?
