Do We Have To Use Reverse Psychology for Our Favorite WWE Stars To Win?
Since 2009 came around, it's been all about change. Barack Obama became our nation's president and was sworn into office. Everyone, everything around the country is switching their ball game.
AIG tried to give out hefty bonus checks to their employees using the stimulus money they received.
There's that guy who stole about $70 million from people who invested their money in him (Bernie Mader, I think). The MLB season has started and all the pitchers are throwing curve balls. They aren't the only ones as WWE is doing the same.

Where's the inception to this madness?
WWE wants to be predictable, but their currently unbreakable habit of throwing curve balls return them right back to square one. WWE is now " predictable" again. What? I am beginning to get the impression that I must expect the least expected, heck the unexpected in feuds and matches.
What the heck am I talking about?
Let's head back to Survivor Series 2008. Jeff Hardy missed the PPV in which Edge returned and captured the WWE title (Surprise!). The reason behind Hardy's absence was that he was attacked by a "mystery man."
Around this time, Christian was rumored to not be resigning with TNA and the the mouths started babbling. People were like the teacher in Charlie Brown.
"WA WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP!".
We are assuming that he had resigned with WWE and were keeping up with the updates on every and an wrestling site possible. Jeff Hardy ultimately got his first WWE title when he won the title at Armageddon 2008. Edge and Vickie weren't far behind as Edge already had his rematch lined up for the 2009 Royal Rumble.
From here on out, curveballs began flying as if there were no tomorrow.
The speculation was that Christian would appear at the Rumble and cost Jeff Hardy his belt. Many wanted him to get into some sort of program with Edge and the Hardys, just like the old days. The crowd was on fire when the no-DQ WWE title match took place.
The no-DQ stipulation just foreshadowed Christian's return. Instead, we were greeted by Matt Hardy, who was Jeff Hardy's attacker. He said he was solely responsible for the pyro incident, the road rage incident, and the Survivor Series attack? Though I was pleased that Christian didn't show up, I wished that he had at that moment.
Matt Hardy did all of that to his brother and Jeff never knew?
Many are still sold that Christian was the attacker. This isn't about how Christian is treated, this is about the nature of WWE's "predictability." They wanted to stick it to us and they did.
Everyone then speculated Christian showing up on Smackdown and jaws dropped again when he returned on ECW. Really? Is this best for the company? An over hyped guy returns in lackluster style on the C show...just to stick it to us? Again, this isn't a Christian case.
Many people were thinking Orton vs Cena and Triple H vs Edge as Mania, but that wasn't the plan. We were introduced to a lackluster feud between two men fighting over the love of one the world's most annoying women and has a superman as a third wheel.
Orton and Cena could have been a match to talk about and that went out the window when Orton started punting off the McMahons and started feuding with Triple H. What is going on? Was this the original plan? How did Batista's injury play a part in all of this?
When the match between Orton and Trips went down, most people assumed Orton was going to win. I won't mention who was more deserving or give a match recap, but Triple H retained the title. Though people believed Trips would win, there were millions more pulling for Orton.
This reminds me of last year at Wrestlemania 24 where a poll was held before the triple threat match for the WWE title was held. Cena and Triple H pulled in all the votes while Orton only had a mere five percent.
He was the winner of the match.
Returning to this year, there was the highly anticipated Money In The Bank match at Wrestlemania 25. Finlay, MVP, Mark Henry, Kofi Kingston, Kane, Shelton Benjamin, CM Punk, and Christian were the eight competitors. Christian was no doubt the most popular.
Many were already drooling on the possibility of Christian cashing in the briefcase on Edge. MVP got out of the doghouse and had one hell of a push. MVP fans were surely behind him and then there was Shelton Benjamin.
Losing the U.S. title amongst other things foreshadowed him winning the case. A pole was held before the event and Benjamin had earned 60% of the votes. The winner turned out to be CM Punk, the man many didn't expect.
He won last year, who would expect him? We were caught again. Must we use reverse psychology now? Must we root for other stars in hopes of the star we actually want to win does win? Maybe I'm just the only one under the impression, but it sure seems that way.
I have all of this evidence to back me up, but everything could have been all a coincidence. I believe there is a pattern and I'll set to try an experiment and put this thing to the test.
You see that Michael Cole pic above?
He was stunned as well. What is exactly the nature of the curve balls? What will be the next one? This has been very interesting. If WWE is indeed trying to through the least expected outcomes at us, then they are still "predictable."
