Will Arsenal Need Emmanuel Adebayor Next Season?

Callum D'SouzaMar 24, 2009

Since Emmanuel Adebayor was stretched off in Arsenal's goalless draw with rivals Tottenham, Arsenal have favoured playing a 4-5-1.

Either Robin van Persie or Nicklas Bendtner play up front with Andrei Arshavin or Samir Nasri playing just behind the lone striker and the likes of Alexandre Song, Emmanuel Eboue, Carlos Vela Denilson, Abou Diaby, and Theo Walcott in the midfield.

This is starting to gel together and looking quite impressive and dangerous.

With captain Cesc Fabregas and Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky soon to return to the Arsenal squad, Arsene Wenger will have a packed midfield suiting more to the 4-5-1.

With striker Robin van Persie managing to stay fit and establishing himself as one of the world's best strikers, Nicklas Bendtner finally starting to find his feet, and the likes of Carlos Vela and Eduardo Da Silva bound to be red hot strikers next season, do Arsenal still need their lanky Togolese striker?

Adebayor is one of the last players I want to see leave the talented yet youthful Arsenal squad.

However, after his attitude before this current campaign and the comments he has made plus the more than handy sum Arsenal could receive for the Togo international, he could be on his way out for the 2009/2010 season.

Adebayor is blessed with size, pace, and balance. He is one of the more experienced strikers in the Arsenal squad, but it has not been his season in 2008/2009.

The six footer has been unable to rediscover his form from last season where he netted over thirty goals and was easily Arsenal's most dangerous player. This season his shooting, passing, and headers have been off despite 12 goals to his name.

Adebayor is set to return to the Arsenal first XI after the international break where his presence will be greatly appreciated and much needed as Arsenal look to keep fourth place and win their first champion's league trophy and add yet another FA cup to their name.

Personally I do not want to see Emmanuel Adebayor leave the Emirates, at least not yet, but with Arsenal youngsters coming through plus the twenty million they could receive from the likes of Barcelona and such perhaps a sale is not out of the question?
