Christian vs. Vince McMahon: A Creative Battle Royale!

Jordan DouglassMar 18, 2009

When I first heard that Christian was coming back to the WWE, I was completely for it. As happy as I was that TNA allowed Christian to break the glass ceiling and become a true champion, it just wasn't the correct fit for him.

I was banking on the WWE not making the same mistake twice and dropping the ball on Captain Charisma, finally allowing him to be the superstar he is. I now realize that I was dead wrong.

The current rumor being circulated is that Vince doesn't see Christian as a main event player, but more of a midcard talent.

Seriously?

Does he forget that before he left the first time, he got over on his own? He was thrown into a feud with Cena and Jericho and yet stole the show from both of them. He went from a low-level heel character to gaining a cult like following and gaining more "peeps" to his fan-base every place he went.

Now, he gets lightning in a bottle for a second time, and yet Vince continues to turn his nose down at Christian, and for what reason? Christian has excellent mic skills, a superb in-ring ability, and he oozes charisma in everything he does.

Plus, did he not hear the crowd reaction once Christian re-debuted? He had been gone for three-years from the E and in that time the fan-base definitely changed, yet Christian still got a very nice pop in his re-emergence. So why does Vince still insist on not pushing this man?

The reason being is because Vince didn't create Christian, and we all know how Vince feels about characters he didn't create. If it wasn't from his mind, he believes he won't be any good.

Regardless of the person's talent or ability and overness with the crowd, Vince didn't create him, so he's not any good.

Should it matter if you created him or not? No, it should matter who the crowd genuinely wants to see. The fans were a buzz about Christian and anxiously awaiting his return to a WWE ring. Imagine how each and every one of them felt when he was regulated to the C show.

On one hand, I understood this decision. Don't give Christian a huge push, let the younger audience get familiar with him and slowly build him up to a main event level guy. But now, it appears as if that's not the plan at all.

So what was Vince's motive for getting Christian if he never plans on pushing him to the next level?

I think Vince is making a big mistake in not giving this man a push. People are complaining about how predictable and boring each show has become, mainly because the same people in the main event.

Christian has the talent and ability to be a main event player, and the fans are clamoring for it. Why not give him a shot? You've taken chances before and they have panned out for the most part, why not take a chance now?

Taking this chance would be beneficial for the WWE and I think if Vince stay in his ways, he'll be harming himself and his company.

Unfortunately, I think he's far too set in his ways to change them now and Christian is doomed to another wasted opportunity with the boys from Stamford.

It's a shame really. To see a guy with so much potential and talent being held down. Hopefully I'm wrong about all of this and Vince will see the error in his thinking, but I'm just not convinced that his mind will be changed.

Question of the Day: What do you hope to see Christian accomplish in his return to the WWE?
