Ford EcoBoost 400 2012: Complete Preview, Live Stream, Start Time and Schedule

On Sunday, the 2012 Sprint Cup Series will come to a close with the Ford EcoBoost 400, and this year's champion will be crowned at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Heading into the race, Brad Keselowski is the resounding favorite to unseat six-time champion Jimmie Johnson, as the Penske Racing driver put himself in a good position to take home the title after his sixth place finish in Phoenix last weekend.

At this stage, Keselowski can clinch the first Sprint Cup of his young career by finishing 15th or better on Sunday, and the only man capable of catching him is Johnson, as the reigning champion sits 20 points back of the leader going into the season finale.

Drivers to Watch

Brad Keselowski

At this point, this will be a two-man race between Jimmie Johnson and the current leader, Brad Keselowski, who is on the verge of taking home his first Cup.

After Johnson's 32nd place finish last weekend, Keselowski's 20-point lead is enough that unless he finishes outside of the top-15, he'll come away with easily the biggest title of his career on Sunday.

As Lars Anderson of Sports Illustrated points out, the chances are overwhelmingly stacked in Keselowski's favor.

"Considering that Keselowski hasn't finished worse than 11th in the first nine Chase races and he's only come in 16th or worse once since mid-June... well, you have to like the chances of the 28-year-old Keselowski and his No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge team."

Jimmie Johnson

No, the chances of Johnson pulling off a stunning come-from-behind victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway aren't favorable, if there's anyone capable of climbing back from a 20-point deficit in the season finale, it's him.

Unfortunately, even if Johnson takes the checkered flag on Sunday, he'll need Keselowski to have one of his worst races of the season to win the Cup.

Carl Edwards

Sitting in 15th place in the standings, Carl Edwards is obviously (and mathematically) out of Sprint Cup contention, but that doesn't mean he's not worth watching on Sunday.

That's because Edwards is one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and has won twice there in the past.
