Some horses are still stuck on the East Coast thanks to super storm Sandy that devastated the Eastern Seaboard earlier this week. At least 12 horses have been unable to make the trip as of Wednesday, according to John Klemack and Julie Brayton of NBC Los Angeles.
Horses have until 72 hours prior to the start of their specific race in order to make it to the track before they face being disqualified. All horses must and are set to arrive by Thursday morning in order to post in time for weekend races.

Prediction: Flat Out Wins
A favorite of last year’s race, Flat Out is coming off of a tough year. He was favored to win this race in 2011, but ended with a disappointing fifth-place finish.
The odds may have shifted for Flat Out, that looked like a horse that greatly benefit from the change of scenery when he moved from Louisville’s Scooter Dickey’s stable to New York’s Bill Mott.
Most recently, the six-year-old gelding used a late surge to edge leader Stay Thirsty and beat race favorite Fort Larned at the Grade-1 Jockey Club Gold Cup—a prep race for the Breeders’ Cup—at Belmont at the end of September. Fort Larned is also competing this weekend is an 8-1 favorite at Santa Anita Park.
