WWE Hell in a Cell 2012: Match Card, Potential Spoilers, Predictions and More
While there is still so much uncertainty surrounding WWE’s October pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell, the intrigue surrounding the main event between fan-favorite CM Punk and unproven star Ryback has wrestling fans all over the world ready to tune in.
There has been no clear ending to this match—or the actual PPV itself—that has presented itself through storylines so far, but the fact that this WWE title bout is unpredictable is exactly what the company wants.
The Hell in a Cell card is far from the WWE’s most impressive of the year, but a solid lower card and a potentially huge ending leading into Survivor Series could make this one of the best PPVs of 2012.

Potential Spoilers
Rumor: PWInsider is reporting via NoDQ.com about what is being advertised for Survivor Series in Indianapolis, the location of this year’s event:
"Local Advertisements for the 2012 Survivor Series pay-per-view are teasing the end between John Cena and CM Punk for the WWE Title…Advertisements also implied that Ryback and Big Show would be captaining Survivor Series teams at this year's event.
"
Our Take: While the majority of fans have become resigned to the fact that the main event will feature a run-in that will cost Ryback the match, who will help CM Punk is a hotly contested point. As much as the WWE Universe would love to see Brock Lesnar return—both to add even more intrigue and drive up the TV ratings for Monday’s Raw—Big Show could be the cheaper way to accomplish the same outcome.
Rumor: Justin Labar of WrestleZone is reporting about the outcome of the main event:
"After asking several sources their gut feeling on who would walk out with the title, they all said they feel by the final hour, the decision will be to go with CM Punk. However, one quickly added that with Vince being a big fan of Ryback, it wouldn't surprise them if he ignored other concerns and went with the young star.
"
Our Take: As much as Vince McMahon loves Ryback, he loves money even more. With The Rock slated to return for the WWE title at Royal Rumble 2012, a heel CM punk as the champion leading into that event is the smartest plan. As unpredictable as it looks, the company will figure out how to end Hell in a Cell without ruining their ideas for The Rock’s return.
Main Event Preview and Prediction
Despite the controversy over the ending of this match, the intrigue of all the uncertainty will have the numbers much higher than expected for the PPV.
Even with no John Cena advertised, the allure over CM Punk’s title reign, the unproven Ryback and the possibilities of a big-name run-in will have every fan of the sport ready to see which direction WWE takes.
Ryback will not only perform better than most expect, but this will be one of the better matches all year, and these two will take each other to their limits in the cell. While there is little doubt that Punk will retain the strap, Ryback will walk out of this match as a viable top star in the WWE.
No matter who Paul Heyman recruits to save Punk’s title run—Brock Lesnar, Big Show or another “Heyman Guy”—Punk must win the match and continue on to defend the strap until the Royal Rumble.
Once at the Rumble, Punk will drop the title to The Rock. That’s a different topic for a different day, though.
Predicted Winner: CM Punk retains.
