WWE News: Update on Paul Heyman's Role in the Company
In recent times, Paul Heyman has found his WWE career in a very interesting position.
After a lengthy hiatus from the company (Heyman has always had a tumultuous relationship with the McMahon family, as former writers Seth Mates and Andrew Goldstein recounted to PWTorch's Wade Keller recently), he returned to America's No. 1 wrestling promotion as a "legal adviser" to real-life friend Brock Lesnar earlier this year.
Since Lesnar was written off television (per the storyline, he's quit, although no one on the planet buys that he's gone for good), Heyman has continued to be all over WWE television as newly-turned WWE Champion CM Punk's manager and mentor.

But what about the future? Will Heyman continue to be an integral part of the WWE product?
In this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gives an update on Heyman working a full-time road schedule (meaning he manages Punk on house shows, as well as TV):
"Regarding Heyman and going on the road, he is not working a full-time road schedule. There's no deal in place regarding number of dates, and it's more he'll be working some swings but not all of them. The deal in place is that he works all Raws, and I would guess all PPVs as well as any show where Punk is on television. From there, it's a case-by-case basis.
"
Although Meltzer goes on to note that the manager will work the company's upcoming European tour:
"That's a high priority to bring as many stars as possible on that two-week swing because the European swings are traditionally the most lucrative house show runs of the years and the company is lacking star power."
On another note, Heyman's role in WWE looks to be continuing to expand. As the former ECW owner noted in an interview with ESPN earlier this week, he wrote most of the storylines in WWE '13, the company's upcoming video game from THQ.
