FIFA 13 Review: What Soccer Fans Will Love Most About This Year's Game
EA released this year's edition of its popular soccer video game, FIFA 13, this week to the public, and most reviews across the web have tons of praise for the game.
EA boosted several features that existed in last year's game, but also performed complete overhauls in areas of the game that used to be much weaker.
Let's take a look at what soccer fans will love most about FIFA 13.
Enhanced Dribbling
FIFA 13 gives gamers many more options when it comes to playing one on one soccer. Unless you're constantly looking to score off of crosses into the box or by connecting on through balls all day long, the new Complete Dribbling feature in this year's game is an addition you will love.
There are multiple ways to attack defenders, though some are more effective than others. Although regular just-for-fun games could turn into one on one battles between you and your friends, that's hardly a knock on this addition.
Overall, I would say it pumps new life into this year's game, and makes it feel a lot more realistic during attacking situations.
Soccer is supposed to be fun, and this the enhanced dribbling adds an extremely enjoyable element to the sport in FIFA 13.
Realistic Control
No longer do players welcome the ball into their feet with ease after a long pass down field. The addition of FIFA 13's realistic first touch control makes it much harder to maintain possession of the ball after a poor pass.
Those who have played the sport in real life know that rarely does a long ball land perfectly on the end of your foot. In order to make spectacular first touches, you need to be skilled. That's why seeing poorly-rated players struggling on their first touches in FIFA 13 is so refreshing.
Whether there's a defender running at your player, or the pass is just out of control, you won't find your players corralling quite as easy as in past editions of FIFA.
Ultimate Team
The Ultimate Team feature has been a part of FIFA for awhile now, but in FIFA 13 it gets turned up a notch with online seasons. Now that gamers have the option to attempt to work their squad up from Division 5 to 1, there's no excuse ever to be bored again.
Of course, the best part of franchise modes and FIFA's Ultimate Team mode is that fans and gamers can personalize the experience. Whether it's the uniform or the roster, everything is customizable and stays that way in FIFA 13.
The fact that gamers can update their team and make changes from their smartphones makes this feature that much more incredible in today's technological age.
