Vikings vs. Colts: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info, Game Time and More

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

Fresh off an overtime victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Minnesota Vikings will take their undefeated record to Indianapolis to battle Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts

There is a good chance the Vikings could leave this game with a 2-0 record, and while it will come against two teams that figure to be bottom feeders, give a team a 2-0 record and hopes start rising.

For the Colts, they are just trying to rebound from a trouncing at the hands of the Bears and will put on a good showing for their fans, who will be given their first chance to cheer for rookie QB Andrew Luck in a game that counts.

What's at Stake?

Not much, in terms of wins and losses. Neither of these teams were given a shot to make the postseason this year, and while the Vikings enter this contest 1-0, nothing really transpired in Week 1 to make anyone feel any differently about that.

However, both of these young teams do want to show improvement and inspire the hope that things are going in the right direction.

Injury Report

At the time of publication, the official injury report was not available.

Check out NFL.com for the report, as it should become available sometime Wednesday afternoon, and it will update as the week goes on.

Fantasy Start 'Em, Sit' Em, Sleeper

Start 'Em: Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson further proved that he is not human by rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1.

That's a mind-boggling feat, considering it was roughly 9.5 months ago he was carted off the field after suffering a horrendous knee injury.

AP may not be 100 percent, but he was at least 90 percent, and 90 percent Peterson is No. 1 fantasy back material.

Sit 'Em: Donald Brown

Donald Brown had just nine carries for 48 yards in Week 1. He did add a touchdown, which saved his fantasy day from being terrible.

While his workload was undoubtedly limited to the large deficit the Colts faced, it was pretty clear Brown is not going to be a focal point of the offense.

What is really going to kill Brown in this game is that the Vikings play solid run defense but are questionable in the passing game. They held the strong Jaguars running game to 3.3 yards per carry and no touchdowns.

Sleeper: Coby Fleener

The second the Colts drafted tight end Coby Fleener following the selection of his Stanford teammate Andrew Luck, he went onto the fantasy sleeper board.

Then he had a quiet preseason and was not generating a lot of buzz. Well, after 82-yard, six-catch, 10-target performance in the opener, the buzz is back.

The Vikings allowed Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis to catch five balls for 52 yards and a touchdown last week.

Unless you have one of the stud fantasy tight ends, Fleener is a solid play.

Vikings Player To Watch: Adrian Peterson

As we talked about above, Peterson's performance in Week 1 was amazing given his knee injury. I can't wait to see what this dynamic back has in store for Week 2.

I expect AP to break the 100-yard mark in this one.

Colts Player To Watch: Andrew Luck

Luck enters this game after posting a QB rating of 52.9 in the opener. This meager number was a result of the fact that the rookie chucked three picks.

While he certainly wants to limit his interceptions, there are a lot of positives for him to build on in a performance that saw him eclipse the 300-yard mark.

Luck should have an easier time of things in this game, as he will be facing the Vikings' weak pass defense instead of the Bears.

This game should be the official Luck-coming-out party.

Key Matchup: Adrian Peterson vs. Colts' Run Defense

This is the matchup that will determine how this game plays out. If Peterson is allowed to have early success, the Vikings will be in great shape.

Prediction: Vikings 24, Colts 20

The Vikings have more weapons and more experience. This should be a close game that goes down to the wire, but Adrian Peterson will wear down the Colts defense and pave the way to victory.
