NHL 13: Breaking Down Best New Features in EA's Beloved Hockey Video Game
NHL die-hards and video games lovers alike will rejoice on Tuesday, when EA Sports releases NHL 13.
This year's edition has a plethora of added features that are sure to earn positive reviews from those who know the game.
From the enhanced physics engine to the minute presentation details, NHL 13 is revamped just in time for the upcoming hockey season.
Let's take a closer look at the best new features in NHL 13.
True Performance Skating
Similarly to Madden 13, NHL 13 offers up a more realistic style of movement. The upgraded physics engine allows for improved momentum and makes the gameplay much smoother.
EA added tons of new animations to this year's game—roughly 1,000—which should open users up to a more exciting and far less predictable gameplay experience.
This added feature brings a great sense of creativity to the table.
Enhanced Presentation
Every year it seems that sports video games add another element to their presentation. Whether its better commentary or more texture on the uniforms, gamers take notice.
In NHL 13, fans of all 30 teams will feel like they are a part of the franchise with the added team-specific presentation and realistic arena and stadium experiences.
For me, presentation is everything in a sports video game, and EA was wise to pay close attention to that feature in this year's edition.
Improved Hockey IQ
The improved A.I. system in NHL 13 allows players to make much more realistic moves and decisions down on the ice. The result is a game that is both more enjoyable to play and watch.
It won't take long for gamers to notice this new feature. Most likely the first time your goalie spreads out to make a desperation save, or your defenders drop back into an appropriate formation given the situation.
Not only do your team's players make smarter and more life-like decisions, but the computers do as well.
